POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.

POLSON — The Memorial Day Parade will assemble at the Elks Club on Main Street between 9-9:30 a.m. with step-off time at noon. The parade will go down Main Street and turn to end at First Citizens Bank. Polson Flathead Lake Museum on Main Street will offer free ice cream and a 20 percent discount on admission fees.

POLSON — The North Lake County Library continues its popular Needle Arts Series with embroidery classes every Tuesday in May from 2-3 p.m. On May 28 the odds ‘n ends of needle arts will be covered.

POLSON — Guatemala is the subject of the 3:30 p.m. Wiggle Worms program at the North Lake County Public library.

POLSON — “The Great Gray Owl.” by Denver Holt, will be Mission Mountain Audubon Society’s educational program on Wednesday, May 29, at 7 p.m. in the North Lake County Public Library in the meeting room. Everyone is welcome.

POLSON — Come join our second monthly community discussion forum, “Polson Gather Round - Walk With the World,” on Thursday, May 30, from 4-5 p.m., at the Good Roasting Coffee Company, 201 Third Ave.-right behind Stutzman Furniture. POLSON/LONEPINE — There will not be an accordion jam on Sunday, June 2, due to our annual campout and potluck being held on May 31 and June 1, at Lonepine Community Center, off of Highway 28. All are welcome. There is a big blue building on the east side of the highway, turn west and follow to the campgrounds. You will go past a cemetery. The main dinner will be on June 1 at around 4 or 5 p.m. Dancing starts around noon each day. POLSON – Polson Community Church, located at 1814 First Street E, will have their Fifth Friday Night Dinner on May 31 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Dinner will consist of pork roast, potatoes and gravy, broccoli, salad and a wonderful array of desserts. POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library District’s Friends of the Library are holding a huge used book sale on Friday, May 31, and Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy browsing through hundreds of used books, DVDs and audiobooks, all at bargain prices. Fundraising items include the new Friends of the Library canvas book bags and T-shirts available for $15. Fill a bag with books for only $5. Refreshments will be served. All proceeds and contributions from this event will go toward the Friends’ support of the library’s programs and projects. The sale will be in the large meeting room at the library, 2 First Ave. E.

POLSON — The Polson Booster Club will hold a shrimp boil dinner on Saturday, June 1, from 5-7 p.m. at Glacier Brewing Co, 6 Tenth Ave. E. JIMnI will provide music and there will be awards, door prizes and raffles. Tickets are $35 per person and includes dinner and one drink token. See you there.

POLSON — Sandpiper Art Gallery, 306 Main Street, Polson, presents until June 14, “As I Was Wandering.” This exhibit will be everything we love about Montanans and the Montana experience. POLSON — The Polson Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be held at the Red Lion Ridgewater Inn and Suites from noon-1 p.m. The featured speaker for this month is Bridger Mahlum of the Montana Chamber of Commerce. POLSON — The Lake County Republican Central Committee will meet on Wednesday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Polson Rural Fire Hall conference room. POLSON — Polson Kiwanis Club will meet on Thursday, June 6, at noon, downstairs in the Koostatah Room at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. Robbie Hayes will speak on behalf of Special Olympics and receive an award from Kiwanis. Kiwanis will also present an award to Helping Hands and Tillie Marshall will tell about the progress on its projects, including the successful “Baby Boxes” given to new mothers in local Lake County hospitals. These boxes have been instrumental in lowering infant mortality rates. Shea McGuinness will receive a Polson Key Club scholarship. Kiwanis Club will also be organizing committees for its upcoming fundraiser, the second annual Wine and Beer Festival, to take place on Friday, June 21, at the KOA campground. The public is welcome to attend.

POLSON — North Lake County Public Library’s Wednesday, June 12, Wiggle Worms program will learn about Brazil.

POLSON – The regular monthly meeting of the Polson Rural Fire District Board of Trustees will take place on Wednesday, June 12, at 6 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Station No. 1, 25-B Regatta Road. An agenda is available on the Monday prior to the meeting.

POLSON — The Boys and Girls Club of Lake County and Flathead Reservation in Polson will operate a summer program Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. from June 17-Aug. 16 (closed July 4). The cost is $10 per week or $75 for the full summer. The summer session is nine weeks of fun - opportunities, discoeries, learning, and activities galore. POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library’s summer reading program, “A Universe of Stories,” begins registration at 10 a.m. They will make full use of their ongoing NASA @My Library grant resources to provide high-quality programming. Also on this date, the Usborne New Book Fair will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Books for infants to young adults are among the selections available. There will be no Makerspace program held on this day.

POLSON — North Lake County Public Library’s Wednesday, June 19, Wiggle Worms program will learn about Morocco.

POLSON — Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. from June 20-Aug. 8, the North Lake County Library will have space-centered children’s programming. Crafts and activities will be included with each presentation. Martin Horejsi, Associate Professor of Instructional Technology and Science Education, Solar System Ambassador for NASA, and longtime meteorite hound, will run a youth-oriented program on the Moon, Mars and Meteorites on Thursday, June 20. This presentation will be followed by a hands-on activity suitable for school-aged kids. Martin Horejsi will follow up the youth program with a second program for adults: “Meteorites: An Inconvenient Science” at 1 p.m.

POLSON — The 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 20, SPLASH meeting hosted by Payne West Insurance and Alpine Designs takes place at Alpine Designs, 111 Third Ave. E. There will be a $2 charge for everyone who attends a SPLASH event to help fund the Fourth of July fireworks.

POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library will offer another class in their computer basics series titled “Internet Privacy,” on Tuesday, June 25, from 2–3 p.m. In this class Heather will show you how to be safe while using the internet and how to best protect your privacy on the web.

POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library continues their “A Universe of Stories” program at 10:30 a.m. Jessie Herbert and the other staff of SpectrUM Discovery Area in Missoula will help us explore the universe within as they bring their “Science of Me” to our library for a fun, hands-on morning of activities suitable for kids of all ages.
