Polson Chamber holds ‘Meet and Greet’ event
POLSON — The Polson Chamber of Commerce will host a candidate “Meet and Greet” event on Wednesday, May 9, at the North Lake County Library from 6-8 p.m. Candidates vying for Lake County Sheriff and District 20 District Court Judge, along with democratic candidates for House District 93 will be on hand. Each candidate will explain why they are the best candidate in their race. Candidates will be available for questions afterwards. Refreshments will be served.
Rural Fire holds monthly meeting
POLSON — The regular monthly meeting of the Polson Rural Fire District Board of Trustees will take place on Wednesday, May 9, at 6 p.m. at the Fairgrounds Station No. 1 meeting room, 25-B Regatta Rd.
Thursday, May 10
Performance dates changed
POLSON — Due to some unforeseen circumstances, the Polson High Theatre Production Club’s performance of “Reality Stars: Greek Gods Edition” have been rescheduled to Thursday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m. and on Friday, May 11, at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for students and $7 for adults. The Spanish Club will serve a spaghetti dinner prior to the play each evening from 5-6:30 p.m. for $5 per person or $20 for a family.
Story time held at library
POLSON – Please join us at the North Lake County Public Library every Thursday at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for a one-hour program for children ages 3-5, their siblings and their caregivers. The program for May 10, is “Cuddle Bugs.”

Free gifts given during May’s Parents as Teachers meeting
POLSON – Free gifts. Who doesn’t want a little present? The Lake County Parents as Teachers May Community Connection is all about gifts – for a mom or another special someone in your life, and for you, just for attending. It is happening at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 11 at the Lake County Health Department, 801 Main Street in Polson. We have a couple of craft ideas for the young ones to create, either “all by myself ” or with your help, and a yummy no-sugar, no-bake treat that we are going to put together with everyone’s help. Pregnant moms and families with children under the age of five are welcome to attend the Parents as Teachers Community Connections. This is a good chance to meet other families with young children, and to learn more about the Parents as Teachers Home Visiting program. We’ll have a drawing for a door prize, and if you bring a friend, you are guaranteed a gift as well. Lapotka to address Pachyderms
POLSON – All are invited to hear Pachyderm speaker James Lapotka, deputy county attorney on Friday, May 11 from noon to 1 p.m. share about the Pretrial Services pilot program coming soon to Lake County as part of a legislative effort to increase efficiency and reduce costs for county court systems. Meeting is at Rural Fire Station off Regatta Road.

POLSON — Shred Day will take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Glacier Bank, 50510 Highway 93. Two boxes per person are allowed.

Electronic waste accepted at Transfer Station
POLSON — The Transfer Station will accept electronic waste on Saturday, May 12, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. This includes TVs, computer monitors (flat screen only), cell phones, copiers, printers, and cords. Tracy’s Auto and Marine will pay $50 per abandoned or junked vehicle and haul away. Call 406-261-6592 for date and time.
Red Cross holds blood drive at Burgerville
POLSON — A blood drive for the American Red Cross is planned for Saturday, May 12, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Richwine’s Burgerville. The blood drive is being held the day before Mother’s Day in honor of owner Marcia Moen’s mother, Lucille Richwine. Call 406-883-2620 to schedule your blood donation appointment.

Learn about ‘Flipster,’ ‘Freegal’
POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library presents free twice monthly computer classes. This program of courses can provide you with computer and technology basics. On May 15, at 2 p.m. learn about “Flipster and Freegal.” “Flipster” is a digital magazine that makes it easy for you to read your favorite magazines on your computer or mobile device. “Freegal Music” is a free music service that is provided to you by your participating public library. Essiac Study Group meets
POLSON – The Essiac Study Group will meet at the large meeting room of the North Lake County Public Library from 6:30 - 8 p.m. on May 16, 30 and June 13. May 16 features a discussion on the nine key factors to staying alive and healthy - a look at Kelly Turner’s book Radical Remission. Also information on growing herbs and free seeds. Join the community dance
POLSON – Calling all of you who love classic country music to come and join us at our next dance from 7-10 p.m., on Wednesday, May 16, at the Elks on Main Street. The band also plays music from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s. If you like hamburgers, the Elks put out a pretty good one before the dance. Cost of the dance is $5 per person. Come and enjoy yourselves.

Paint rocks for Polson Painted Rock Project
POLSON —The Polson Painted Rock project is off to a fantastic start. There have been approximately 80 rocks distributed, with one making it all the way to Safeco Field. We will be hosting another Open Rock Painting Party at the Chamber Office on May 16, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Keep your eye out for our rocks, and let us know where you find them. Fundraiser planned for Carlos Rodriques
POLSON – A fundraiser to benefit Polson community member Carlos Rodriques will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Polson Elks Club on Main Street. Carlos became suddenly ill and has been hospitalized since early March with an autoimmune affliction that has compromised his nervous system, leaving him paralyzed. In addition to the fundraiser at the Elks Club, two other online fundraisers through GoFundMe and CaringBridge have been set up to help pay for his medical costs. For more information call 676-0170.
