POLSON — The third Tuesday of each summer month the North Lake County Public Library holds a fun, interactive program for teens and pre-teens called “Adulting 101.” This program is intended to help prepare the future of our nation to go out into the world (mostly) ready to survive as a new adult. We promise these sessions won’t be boring and will provide lunch. Sessions start at 1 p.m. in the library meeting room. Please let us know if you plan to come so we can be sure there is enough food. We all know that “Adulting” can be hard … the library is here to make the transition a little easier. POLSON — With thanks to Kiwanis, the 33rd annual Bug Race will take place at the Elks Lodge #1695, from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, July 19.

POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club meets for lunch meetings the first and third Thursday of each month at the KwaTaqNuk Resort, Koostatah Room from noon-1 p.m. Mark Nelson, Solid Waste Manager at the Lake County Transfer Station, will be the speaker for Polson Kiwanis Club on July 19. Mark will tell us about the state of the recycling program and what is happening locally and nationally. Lake County is making every effort to help its residents learn how to reduce waste and recycle. This benefits the environment, saves the county money, and reduces what goes in the landfill. Everyone is welcome to attend.

POLSON — Polson SPLASH will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Kalispell Regional Medical Center Polson Health.

POLSON — Mark your calendars for a funfilled weekend called Live History Days at the Miracle of America Museum, 36094 Memory Lane, on July 21 and July 22. There will be historic movies Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. There will be ice cream and other concessions; rides on two trains; Army rigs; spinners and wood carvers; a sawmill in action; a jet trainer cockpit; a blacksmith shop; whirling flywheel engines; a tennis ball cannon; a one room schoolhouse, a flint knapper and educational gun exhibits. The “Country Combo” of fiddlers, pickers, singers and accordions will provide listening and dancing entertainment on Saturday. Join the fun, sell your wares and be a part of history. We welcome new exhibitors and volunteers. POLSON — The Polson Main Street Flathead Cherry Festival will be held Saturday, July 21, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, July 22, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Come enjoy the great selection of vendors, Flathead cherries, homemade cherry pies, cherry quilts on display in store windows, unique arts and crafts, entertainment, sidewalk sales and specials all weekend long. POLSON — The Lake County Fair will hold a Shotgun Event at Big Sky Sporting Clays at 10 a.m.

POLSON — Join the Parents as Teacher Home Visitors as we partner with Youth Services Librarian Kendra during the North Lake County Public Library’s Mother Goose Story Hour at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 23. The theme will be ice cream, in observance of “Vanilla Ice Cream Day.” We’ll have activities, a craft project, and Kendra will read us fun books on the topic. We will also have some coupons for free child’s cones, compliments of The Cove. Pregnant moms and families with children under the age of 5 are welcome to attend the Parents as Teachers Community Connections. This is a good chance to meet other families with young children, and to learn more about the Parents as Teachers Home Visiting program. POLSON — The second production by the Port Polson Players is “Foxfire,” a Hallmark Hall of Fame classic. Annie Nations and her husband Hector loved their life together in the Blue Ridge Mountains, but when Hector dies, Annie has to decide if she can handle the wilderness on her own. When son Dillard, a rising country music singing star returns, he must decide the fate of the farm. Montana Governor’s Awards for the Arts recipients and Players’ producers Neal and Karen Lewing are featured. All summer theatre shows are presented at Polson’s beautiful theatre on the lake on the Polson golf course (Highway 93, Boettcher Park. POLSON — The North Lake County Thursday morning reading program invites you to rock and roll with Dickie Williamson from 10-11 a.m.

POLSON — On July 27, area friends, MSU Alumni, families and Bobcat Boosters are invited to participate in a Flathead Lake dinner cruise. This event is designed specifically for MSU alums, families and friends whether or not you participate in the golf scramble. This is a great opportunity to socialize with other Bobcats, while enjoying a scenic voyage on Flathead Lake. The cruise will be hosted by MSU Head Football Coach Jeff Choate. Cruise on board the “Shadow,” which departs from the Kwataqnuk Resort at 6 p.m. and returns at 9 p.m. A buffet dinner will be served and there will be a cash bar. Tickets are $55 per person. The golf scramble will be hosted at the Polson Bay Golf Club on July 28. The format will be similar to last year. The scramble begins with a shotgun start at 10 a.m., followed by a social hour and a barbecue. Entry fee is $500 per team. Proceeds benefit the MSU Bobcat Athletic Scholarship Fund. POLSON — All are invited to the Pachyderm meeting on Friday, July 27, to hear Mark Nelson address the changes in recycling and overall operations of Lake County solid waste. The meeting takes place from noon-1 p.m. at the Polson Rural Fire Department off Regatta Road.

POLSON — The 26th anniversary of Montana’s longest running 3-on-3 basketball tournament takes place on Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29, in downtown Polson.
