Final ‘Adulting’ class held
POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library will hold “Adulting 101’s” third and final session on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 1 p.m. in the library meeting room. This session will cover the basics of finance and we will talk about travel. We invite your questions. This fun, interactive program is for teens and preteens and is intended to help prepare the future of our nation to go out into the world (mostly) ready to survive as a new adult. Learn to drive safely
POLSON — The Northwest Montana AARP Smart Driver Course will be taught on Aug. 21 at the Polson Area Senior Center from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 1-3 p.m. Call 406-883-4735 for a reservation.

POLSON — Missoula author Gwen Florio will be at the North Lake County Library on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 5:30 p.m. for a book reading and signing of her latest release: “Silent Hearts.”

Enjoy ‘Free Night at the Museum’
POLSON — Come celebrate Gil’s birthday (one day early) with readings from his book, “The Story of the Miracle of America Museum,” beginning at 6:30 p.m. He will be glad to sign his books. Treats and donations are always welcome.

Pachyderms to meet
POLSON — All are invited to hear Pachyderm Club speaker, Lori Thibodeau, supervisor for Polson regional office, Adult Probation and Parole, Montana Dept. of Corrections for Aug. 24. She will explain how adult probation and parole fits into the Lake County Justice System, especially with a full jail. Ms. Thibodeau has 20 years of experience with Adult Probation and Parole. Come to Healthy Kids Wellness Fair
POLSON — Linderman Elementary School will host Healthy Kids! Wellness Fair on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The event includes elementary school supplies give-away, bicycle and helmet give-away, bicycle safety course, health and dental screenings, water safety, suicide prevention resources and mental health resources.

Fifth Friday dinner held
POLSON – Polson Community Church, located at 1814 First Street, E, will serve barbecue chicken, potato salad, baked beans, corn on the cob, dinner rolls and dessert. Dinner will be served from 4:30-6:30 p.m. No offering is expected or accepted. Please come and join us for a wonderful night of food and friendship.

Summer hours announced through September 10
POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library will begin their summer hours on Friday, June 1. They will be open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Sunday, September 2
Dance, jam with musicians
POLSON — Polson’s Northwest Accordion Association’s Jam/Dance will take place on Sunday, Sept. 2. Our accordion jams/dances are held on the first Sunday of each month at the Elks ballroom on Main Street. Accordion, guitar, banjo, violin, mandolin, etc., are all welcome to come and play. Singers who sing country or accordion type music are encouraged to come with or without an instrument and to bring a mic and amp if you have them. If you play, you don’t pay, to get in. Admission is $2 for Association members, $3 for non-members and $5 if you would like to become a member of the Association. We do have a great time together, so please come if you can.

Sandpiper begins new exhibit
POLSON — The Sandpiper Art and Gift Gallery, 306 Main Street, begins their new exhibit, “Where Were You Hiding?” This exhibit runs from Sept. 3-Oct. 12. This is a non-juried show, open to all artists. Artistic interpretation of the theme, in any medium, will be accepted. There is a small entry fee for non-Sandpiper member artists.
