‘Driven to Abstraction’ begins now through Nov. 14

POLSON — On Oct. 5 Sandpiper Art Gallery starts a new month-long show in memory of John Davis entitled “Driven to Abstraction.”

This non-juried show is open to all artists. Artistic interpretation of the theme, in any medium, will be accepted. Miracle of America Museum have 4 or 5 metal sculptures there, one of which is very emotionally charged about drunk driving. The show runs from Oct. 5-Nov. 14.

Celebrate Recovery ministers to anyone 








POLSON — Celebrate Recovery Ministry takes place at Polson Foursquare on Sundays between 5-8 p.m.

All are welcome to join us each Sunday evening. CR is a Christ-centered 12-step recovery ministry for anyone with hurts, habits or hang-ups. Area-wide AlAnon meetings available 

LAKE COUNTY — Are you affected by someone else’s drinking? AlAnon can help. Area meetings are anonymous, non-smoking, 12-step recovery for family and friends of alcoholics. Come join us. New choir meets Wednesdays
RONAN — The Mission Valley Children’s Choir, directed by Cathy Gillhouse and Pastor Seth Nelson, meets from 4-5 p.m. every Wednesday at the Faith Lutheran Church, 406 Fifth Ave. SW.

Birthday Bash/Open Mic /Potluck on tap at HUB
POLSON — The first Saturday of each month from 6-9 p.m., a Birthday Bash/Open Mic Night/Potluck will take place at the Co-op HUB, 401 Main Street. Anyone who enjoys playing or listening to live music is welcome and we’re celebrating all birthdays in the month. Bring a cake or food to the potluck. Invite your friends and family for this fun and entertaining event.

POLSON — The Northwest Montana Beekeepers group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:45 p.m. at the HUB, 401 Main Street. There will be a potluck followed by a meet and greet.

Join breastfeeding support group
POLSON — The Baby Café, a breastfeeding support group is held the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. and the third Tuesday of each month at 7:15 p.m. at the HUB, 401 Main Street. Join other breastfeeding moms for support and fellowship with the guidance of Elizabeth Williams, a certified lactation counselor.

POLSON — The Montana Co-op will hold a Farmers/Flea Market every Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at 401 Main Street. Buy, sell, trade, or give things away. You may rent a table for $10. Buy and support local merchandising. Reserve a table by calling 406-290-2070. Musicians are welcome; come play for tips. Food will be available for purchase.
Order/pick up Co-op food orders
POLSON – Order your local food before Monday at noon and your order will be ready on Thursday. Products may be purchased on website: or ask to fill out a recurring order form for your staple food items. Pick up order in Polson every Thursday, year round, from 3-7 p.m. (Ronan pick up is at Dobson Creek Coffee on Main Street in Ronan from noon to 5 p.m.Thursdays) 
Gather for “Four Agreements” talk
POLSON — A third Wednesday of the month gathering at 7:30 p.m. is planned at the Co-op HUB to discuss the core principals of the “Four Agreements.” Living up to the principals helps build community and keeps people connected. These gatherings are free.

Hear Olson tell about Alaska RV adventure

POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Thursday of each month at the Kwa Taq Nuk Resort, Koostatah Room from noon-1 p.m. The speaker for Nov. 19 will be Donna Olson. Join us to hear of Donna’s RV trip/adventure this past summer to Alaska with her husband and friends.  


Nativities, choirs celebrate at LDS Church

POLSON — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints invites you to “The Nativity: Polson” on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 3-8 p.m. (See Friday, Dec. 4) A Christmas program featuring local choirs and artists will take place on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Annual Thanksgiving dinner needs helpers, donations


RONAN — The tenth annual Ronan Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be on Thursday, Nov. 28, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Ronan Community Center. Festivities for the day include entertainment and a traditional turkey dinner. Volunteers are needed to help serve, cook, buss and clean up. Turkeys, pies, and rolls, are also needed. Horsemen to elect 2014 officers


RONAN — The December meeting of the Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will be Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the VFW Hall on Round Butte Road, 7:30 p.m.

Quilters to exchange gifts


RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold their December meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. at the Terrace Lake Community Church, 35663 Terrace Lake Road. 

Dinner will be served. A $10 Christmas gift exchange will take place. Please bring all your handmade Christmas gifts for show and tell.
