Polar bear specialist to speak at NARFE Christmas party
RONAN — The National Active and Retired Federal Employees will hold their annual Christmas party on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at noon at the Ronan Café. Lunch will be off the menu. Following lunch there will be a special program featuring Frank Tyro, a Polar Bear specialist. A brief business meeting will follow the program.

‘Stocking Stuffers’ performed in Ronan
RONAN — Ronan Middle School Drama Department is preparing the Middle School Showcase, “Stocking Stuffers,” to be performed on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. at the Ronan Performing Arts Center. Tickets are free, accepting donations.
Banks display Spirit Baskets until drawings
RONAN/POLSON — Community Spirit Baskets are on display at both the Ronan and Polson Community Bank lobbies until the separate drawings for each community.
Community Bank in Ronan will hold their raffle drawing on Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Ronan Bank at 6 p.m. on Dec. 12.
Swan Hill Bed and Breakfast and Community Bank in Polson will host the 2013 Splash Christmas Event, “Come Home for Christmas” from 5-7 p.m., with the Community Spirit Basket raffle drawing taking place at 6:30 p.m. Free bus transportation will be provided to Swan Hill Bed and Breakfast from Riverside Park, with departures beginning at 4:45 p.m. and continuing approximately every 15 minutes. The last bus leaves the park at 6:30 p.m. and the last bus leaves Swan Hill to Riverside Park at 7:15 p.m.
Proceeds from both events will benefit Lake County Food Pantries. You need not be present to win.
Lake County Council on Aging raffles items
RONAN — The Lake County Council on Aging is having a raffle for a Vizio 47” E Series HD Television; a beautiful flowered quilt and a life-size ceramic Canadian goose. Tickets are $2 each or 3 tickets for $5. The drawing will be held on Dec. 12. For more information or to purchase raffle tickets, call (406) 676-2367.
Two Christmas concerts on tap at K.W. Harvey
RONAN — K. William Harvey Elementary will hold Christmas concerts for third and fourth grade students on Dec. 12 at 10 a.m., and at 12:30 p.m. for first and second grade students. The concerts will take place in the Performing Arts Center, which is located in the Ronan Event Center.

Kuilix Chapter to host party for St. Luke residents
RONAN — The Kuilix chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host a Christmas party for the residents of St. Luke’s Assisted Living Center in Ronan at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14. We will be entertained with festive holiday music provided by “Ukulele Jam.” Refreshments will be provides.
The Valley Cats to play
RONAN — KC and the Valley Cats will play on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 7-10 p.m. at the VFW in Ronan. If you like New Orleans type jazz; this is the place to be. Bring a treat to share and enjoy the fun.

RONAN — The Ronan City Council will meet Monday, Dec. 16, at 6 p.m. at Ronan City Hall, 207 Main Street, SW. The public is encouraged to attend the meetings, which are held the first and third Monday of each month.

St. Paul’s serves up Christmas sermon series, free soup supper

Parade of Lights travels Main Street
RONAN — The Parade of Lights on Main Street will take place on Friday, Dec. 20, at 6 p.m. There will be expanded drawings for Holiday Treasurers held on the back of a truck, which will stop on Main Street at the end of the parade. The list of prizes and baskets is amazing and you must be present to win. Santa, brimming over with Christmas spirit, will then lead everyone to Bockman Park for hot chocolate.
