Marines to meet at Driftwood

Cancer group gives support

POLSON — A cancer support group for cancer patients, cancer survivors and caregivers meets twice a month on the second and fourth Mondays at the United Methodist Church, 301 Sixteenth Ave. E from noon-1 p.m.

Respite House arranges helpful meetings

PABLO — Rez Hope Talk Circle holds their weekly talk circle every Thursday night from 6-7 p.m. at the Respite House in Pablo.

Boosters team up second Tuesdays

POLSON — Polson Booster Club meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings are at the high school in the conference room at 7 p.m. Come get involved in booster club. 

 

Area-wide AlAnon meetings available 

LAKE COUNTY — Are you affected by someone else’s drinking? AlAnon can help. Area meetings are anonymous, non-smoking, 12-step recovery for family and friends of alcoholics. Come join us. There are no membership dues. Meetings are held: Wednesdays at 9 a.m. at Lutheran Church on Wall Street in Hot Springs; Wednesdays at noon in Polson at the Alano Club on Third Ave. W ; Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. at the CMA Church on Third Ave. in St. Ignatius; Fridays at 8 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church on Fourth Ave. E in Polson.

 

Engraver offered in St. Ignatius

ST. IGNATIUS — The St. Ignatius Neighborhood watch is offering the use of an engraver for citizens to engrave valuable items, which could be stolen. The engraver, donated by Town Councilman Daren Incashola, is available for checkout through the St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center on 212 N Main. Neighborhood watch meets in the center each third Thursday at 7 p.m. In addition to interested citizens, law enforcement agencies have been represented at the meetings. 

 
Join library’s story time 
 
POLSON — North Lake County Public will host a special one-hour story time for children age 3-5 years and their caregivers. Join us for stories, songs, movement, crafts and more. Community invited to Catholic faith series through April 3

POLSON – All are invited to attend a “Symbolon” series titled, “The Catholic Faith Explained,” starting Friday, Feb. 20, and continuing every Friday thereafter during Lent at the Immaculate Conception Church in Polson. The gathering will begin at 6 p.m. with Stations of the Cross. A soup supper, video and discussion will follow at 6:30 p.m. Immaculate Conception Church is located at 1002 Fourth Ave. E.. Gallery shows Native American artwork through April 4

POLSON — Sandpiper Gallery presents a Native American Invitational Show highlighting the work of Native American artists Dion Albert (birchbark), Ben Pease  (paintings), Sierra Pete (paintings), and Louie Still Smoking (paintings). This show runs through April 4. Please join us for a complimentary glass of wine while you view the vibrant art from our guest artists. Reception is Friday, Feb. 27, from 5-7 p.m.

 

Stations of the Cross done Lutheran Style through March 25

POLSON — Lenten soup suppers and worship services will be held each Wednesday, Feb. 18-March 25 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. 

Suppers are at 5:30 p.m., followed by worship services at 6:30 p.m. 

“Stations of the Cross Lutheran Style,” will begin in Bethlehem, go to Nazareth and Capernaum, to the Upper Room and the Garden of Gethsemane, the Antonia Fortress and Palace of Caiaphas, ending on Good Friday at Golgotha. We will consider these “stations,” sing hymns and pray. Good Shepherd is located at 409 Fourth Ave., E in Polson. Sewing machine maintenance class

1/9/2014

There will be a sewing machine maintenance class on Jan. 9 at the St. Ignatius Senior Center held in conjunction with the Thursday Quilters. Bring your machine, a project to work on, a potluck dish to share and $10 for the class, which takes place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
