Children’s artwork displayed May 16-30

POLSON – Sandpiper member Heather Holmes will display a multi-media collection of Native American inspired art from art classes she taught with Cherry Valley and Linderman Elementary students including ledger art, totems, masks, mandalas, clay pots and sculptures. The show runs May 16-30. There will be a reception on Friday, May 22 from 5-7 p.m. Come in and show your support of our children.

Archery fellowship held Sunday evenings

PABLO — An Archery Fellowship is held each Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Pablo Christian Church gymnasium. Minister Andy Larsson leads the co-ed events and provides assistance. POLSON — Celebrate Recovery Ministry takes place at Polson Foursquare on Sundays between 5-8 p.m.

All are welcome to join us each Sunday evening. CR is a Christ-centered 12-step recovery ministry for anyone with hurts, habits or hang-ups. The evening starts off with dinner followed by a teaching and discussion groups with coffee/dessert. Childcare is available. Cancer group gives support

POLSON — A cancer support group for cancer patients, cancer survivors and caregivers meets twice a month on the second and fourth Mondays at the United Methodist Church, 301 Sixteenth Ave. E from noon-1 p.m.

LAKE COUNTY — Are you affected by someone else’s drinking? AlAnon can help. Area meetings are anonymous, non-smoking, 12-step recovery for family and friends of alcoholics. Come join us. There are no membership dues. Meetings are held: Wednesdays at 9 a.m. at Lutheran Church on Wall Street in Hot Springs; Wednesdays at noon in Polson at the Alano Club on Third Ave. W ; Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. at the CMA Church on Third Ave. in St. Ignatius; Fridays at 8 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church on Fourth Ave. E in Polson.

 

Engraver offered in St. Ignatius

ST. IGNATIUS — The St. Ignatius Neighborhood watch is offering the use of an engraver for citizens to engrave valuable items, which could be stolen. The engraver, donated by Town Councilman Daren Incashola, is available for checkout through the St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center on 212 N Main. Neighborhood watch meets in the center each third Thursday at 7 p.m. In addition to interested citizens, law enforcement agencies have been represented at the meetings.

Sewing machine maintenance class

1/9/2014

There will be a sewing machine maintenance class on Jan. 9 at the St. Ignatius Senior Center held in conjunction with the Thursday Quilters. Bring your machine, a project to work on, a potluck dish to share and $10 for the class, which takes place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
