Dennison to speak on Montana politics
POLSON — Humanities Montana Conversation: “Montana’s Changing Political Landscape,” with Mike Dennison, will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the North Lake County Public Library. Mike Dennison, chief political reporter for the Montana Television Network, has spent most of the past three decades reporting on politics and public policy in Montana, for newspapers, television and the wire services. This year he released a new book, “Inside Montana Politics: A Reporter’s View from the Trenches.” He will talk about the trends that have shaped the political landscape in Montana.
Fort Connah to hold membership meeting
ST. IGNATIUS — Fort Connah’s annual membership meeting on Jan. 21 will be held at the Post Creek 44 Bar Steak and Tap House located at 73124 U.S. Highway 93. There will be a no host dinner served at 6 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7 p.m. This meeting is open to all.
MCT holds auditions

Barron to address Lake County Pachyderms
POLSON — The Lake County Pachyderms invite the community to hear Bill Barron, Lake County commissioner, share his thoughts about the Montana Water Rights Protection Act. He will discuss the long-term implications for Lake County from the perspective of his office: in terms of the budget from loss of property taxes, public right of ways, as well as ceding CSKT the National Bison range. Choir rehearsals resume
RONAN — The Mission Valley Children’s Choir will resume its fifth year on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Faith Lutheran Church, 406 Fifth Ave. SW. The choir is open to children from the Mission Valley in grades two through six. The directors of the choir are Cathy Gillhouse and Pastor Seth Nelson. Robyn Carlson is the accompanist and Kim Detert is the assistant. The goal is to expose the children to many different styles of music throughout the year, including: multicultural, spirituals, folk, show, patriotic, sacred and seasonal. Film documents race relations in Charleston
The film "Emanuel", a documentary which powerfully weaves the history of race relations in Charleston, South Carolina in the aftermath of the shooting five years ago following a prater meeting at Mother Emanuel Church, will be shown at the North Lake County Library in Polson on Saturday, Feb 8 at 1:00pm.
