Barron to address Lake County Pachyderms
POLSON — The Lake County Pachyderms invite the community to hear Bill Barron, Lake County commissioner, share his thoughts about the Montana Water Rights Protection Act. He will discuss the long-term implications for Lake County from the perspective of his office: in terms of the budget from loss of property taxes, public right of ways, as well as ceding CSKT the National Bison range. The meeting will take place from noon to 1 p.m. at the Polson Rural Fire Station off Regatta Road. For more information call 406-676-2370.

Kiwanis host ‘Pints for a Purpose’
POLSON — On Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 4:30-8 p.m. at Glacier Brewery, 6 Tenth Ave. E, the Kiwanis Club will host “Pints for a Purpose,” a family-friendly fundraiser to support Special Olympics. Hot dogs, chili, beer and non-alcoholic options will be available. Donations to Special Olympics are appreciated.

Choir rehearsals resume
RONAN — The Mission Valley Children’s Choir will resume its fifth year on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Faith Lutheran Church, 406 Fifth Ave. SW. The choir is open to children from the Mission Valley in grades two through six. The directors of the choir are Cathy Gillhouse and Pastor Seth Nelson. Robyn Carlson is the accompanist and Kim Detert is the assistant. The goal is to expose the children to many different styles of music throughout the year, including: multicultural, spirituals, folk, show, patriotic, sacred and seasonal. New time for Classic Country Jammin’
POLSON — Classic Country Jammin’ will be held on Feb. 2 in the Elks ballroom from 1-4 p.m. (The time change is to allow for winter conditions and early sunset.) This event will continue on the first Sunday of every month. Bring your favorite instrument and join us for a few hours of fun. Everyone is welcome to play, sing, dance or just listen. We will have coffee and snacks for you. You do not have to be an Elk member to utilize the bar. Cover charge is $5 but there is no charge for singers or players. Chili cook off planned at horsemen meeting
RONAN — Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will hold their next monthly meeting on Feb. 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the VFW on Round Butte Rd. in Ronan. Something new has been added to the meeting ... it will be a chili cook off. Come and sample and vote for your choice and then stay for the meeting. Enjoy the camaraderie of this organization on the trails and around the campfire. Spring is right around the corner folks.
Learn to crochet through Feb. 25
POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library’s popular “Needle Arts Series” is back. Crochet is back. The library is happy to provide four crochet sessions in February as part of our ongoing fiber arts series. Mark your calendars now with these dates: Feb.4, 11, 18 and 25 at 2 p.m. in the library meeting room. Please bring your crochet hook and yarn (cotton recommended). Hooks are also available for $5 in our gift shop. There will also be yarn on hand.
