2019 Farmers Markets

Lake County vendors invited to Bigfork through Oct. 9

BIGFORK — The Bigfork Farmers’ Market Cooperative will take place each Wednesday until October 9. The market takes place between 3-6 p.m. on the lawn at The Bigfork VFW, 8098 Highway 35. Ronan Farmers Market through September 26

RONAN — The 2019 Ronan Farmers Market will open on Thursday, May 16, at the Ronan Visitors’ Center. Hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursdays throughout the spring and summer until Sept. 26 (except for July 4). For more information, call 406-676-5901 or go to cryse. They are seeking produce and prepared food vendors. The Ronan Farmers Market offers fresh produce, cheeses, eggs, baked goods, prepared foods, and crafts from the Mission Valley.

POLSON — Starting on Friday, May 3, Polson Farmers Market will be open from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. every Friday, rain or shine. The market is located at Third Ave. W. and will have homegrown produce and plants, coffee, jewelry, soaps, popsicles, baked goods, meats, eggs, cheese, preserved foods, fabric, photographic and handmade art, beauty products, wood working and much, much more. Class offers help for caregivers through June 7

Library begins monthly movie night

POLSON — Enjoy “Friday Night at the Library” on the fourth Friday of each month. North Lake County Library will show movies rated PG or PG-13 ( posted on our website) and make fresh popcorn. This program debuts Friday, Jan. 25. Be in the library before 6 p.m. to be included. Feel free to bring your own nonalcoholic beverage and snacks.

Move for better balance

RONAN — Tai Ji Quan is a moving-for-better-balance class and will be offered by a certified instructor at the MSU Lake County Extension on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30-2:30 p.m. beginning May 13. This is an alternative exercise training program for improving balance and preventing falls. There is no cost. Please wear good shoes and clothes you can move in and bring water. POLSON — The spring session of “Moving for Better Balance,” an adapted Tai Chi program, will begin on Tuesday, April 9. MSU alumni play golf

MSU alumni play golf POLSON — Polson Bay Golf Club will host the MSU golf scramble on July 27. The format will be similar to last year’s event. The scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. followed by a social hour and barbecue. The entry fee is $500 per team. All proceeds benefit the MSU Bobcat Athletic Scholarship Fund. Give food for fines at city court

Griz fans invited to visit, discuss new season


POLSON — Hey Griz Fans save the date. Come join us for a Griz Street and Gab on Feb. 6 at Glacier Brewing. Head Coach Bobby Hauck, along with his assistants and athletic department representatives, will join us for a brief signing day-visit on their way north. They will discuss the new signees and future expectations for the 2019 football season. Light refreshments will be served and it will be a fun fan event. The doors will open at 2 p.m. and the coaches and others should arrive about 3:30 p.m. Let’s show our support for the program and let these guys know how much we appreciate all their hard work. Introductory Zen meditation class offered

Valentine’s Day celebrated at Polson’s community dance


POLSON — On Wednesday, Feb. 6, please join us for the Valentine’s Dance in the ballroom at the Elks on Main St. From 7-10 p.m. Ken’s Country Combo will provide a variety of country and vintage rock and roll music. Final day to apply to library board of trustees


POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library District election for two seats on the Board of Trustees will be held May 7, 2019. If you are interested in running for the library board, pick up a Declaration for Nomination and Oath of Candidacy form at the library or at the County Election Office. Filing closes at 5 p.m. on Feb. 11. There is no filing fee or petition needed.

ARLEE — The Arlee CDC will host their 15th annual Chocolate Lover’s Festival on Wednesday, Feb. 13. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., tasting starts at 6 p.m. The auction takes place beginning at 7 p.m. and the cost is $2 per person or $5 per family.
