Learn to knit at Polson library through Oct. 30
POLSON — For four Tuesdays in October (9, 16, 23, and 30), North Lake County Public Library is offering four learn-to-knit sessions at 2 p.m. in the library atrium. Library volunteer and “Knitter-Extraordinaire,” Linda Kittle will be available to guide you and answer questions in the process as new knitters learn the beginning steps of casting on, garter and purl stitch, increasing and decreasing and binding off. Needles and yarn for practice will be available. The teapot will be on. Guys and gals, young and old, you can do this.
'Neither Wolf Nor Dog’ shown in Ronan
RONAN — The Entertainer Theatre is the site for the second movie of the annual Indigenous film series. Set for 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, Neither Wolf Nor Dog tells of author Christopher Sweeney who recounts his travels with Indian elder Dave Bald Eagle through the heart of Lakota country. Children under 13 should be accompanied by an adult.
Gianforte to speak at Lincoln-Reagan dinner
RONAN — The Lake County Republican Central Committee and the Republican Women’s Club invite supporters to the annual Lincoln-Reagan dinner to be held Oct. 14 from 1-4 p.m. at the Ronan Community Center. Keynote speaker for evening will be Greg Gianforte and a silent auction will follow. Tickets cost $25 and include a harvest buffet meal by Vista Linda. Go birding in the Mission Valley
KALISPELL — Join Leslie Kehoe and Bob Lee on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 8 a.m. for a great day of birding around Ninepipes and other bird abundant areas of the Mission Valley. It is a wonderful time to see raptors on the move and perhaps winter residents arriving. Depending on the weather, it will be interesting to see who lingers this time of year in this superb birding area. Meet at the White Oak Park’N’Ride on Highway 93 south of Kalispell at 8 a.m. The group will be out most of the day, so bring optics, appropriate clothing and lunch/snacks. MVMC hosts Mission Fair
ST. IGNATIUS — Mission Valley United Methodist Church, (top of Post Creek Hill), will hold a Mission Fair on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. with speakers sharing experiences on Mission trips. At 11 a.m. there will be a brunch followed with an opportunity to visit with representatives from many local organizations sharing the services they provide in our communities and how we may help them. Everyone is welcome.
