Gallery presents work of renowned artist through Nov. 11
POLSON — Takes Horse Gallery, 49487 US Highway 93, is proud to present “Art in Autumn,” an exhibition featuring the work of renowned artist John Gawne. A member of the CM Russell Museum’s elite Skull Society, John Gawne’s paintings of the western landscape and Native Americans are shown in some of the most prestigious galleries in the country. This is a unique opportunity see his work, as well as paintings by some of Montana’s and the Northwest’s best artists: John Gawne, David Dragonfly, DG House, Tabby Ivy, John Pepion, Rachel Warner and Shannon Webster. Set in Montana in the late 1880s, two logging operators compete for survival. The Truecolor movie stars Sterling Hayden, Vera Ralston, and David Brian. Protestant Reformation celebrated
RONAN — Faith Lutheran Church, led by Pastor Seth Nelson, will celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation throughout the fall. Reformation Sunday is Oct. 29 and our service on that day will include a number of special guest musicians. Additionally, throughout the fall Pastor Seth is teaching a class entitled “Still Figuring It Out: A History of Reformation Movements.” The class focuses not only on Martin Luther and the Lutheran movement, but also many other Christian reformers through the centuries. The class will explore the legacies of Jan Huss to John Wesley, Anabaptists to modern day Mennonites, American Revivalism to modern day Evangelicalism, and much more.

RONAN — The Ronan Middle School will perform a play on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Ronan Performing Arts Center. It is called Aunt Maggity’s Dark and Stormy Night and is a fun mystery play. There are laughs a-plenty and personalities galore in this light-hearted romp of a mystery that has a little bit of everything. POLSON — The Marine Corps’ 242nd Birthday Celebration with a silent auction will be held on Friday, Nov. 10, at the Polson VFW Post upstairs. RONAN — Mission Valley Quilters Guild complete their fundraiser challenge for the Ronan Senior Center on this date. During this annual event, quilters display their projects at the Ronan Senior Center and the public votes on them by donations. The center is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, so stop in, bring your spare change and vote on these wonderful projects. This event runs Nov. 8-Dec. 1.

'Treasure Island’ presented in Arlee
ARLEE — On the Arlee High School Stage at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, Missoula Children’s Theatre and over 50 local students will present an original musical adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s epic novel “Treasure Island.”
Art, singing event supports food pantries, SKC scholarships
POLSON — The Totally Terrific and Truly Timely - Voice and Visual Spectacular will take place Nov. 18 at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. This event is co-sponsored by SAFE Harbor and the SKC Spirit of Many Colors Club as a night of optimism and hope, focused on promoting a strong sense of community for all people. During the evening, art stations will be set up and participants will get to take home their artwork. A vocal talent contest will provide entertainment. There will be audience prizes and karaoke will conclude the night. Tickets are $10 per person or $100 for a VIP table, which has seating for eight and includes a “swag bag” for the group. Big Arm invites community to Thanksgiving dinner
BIG ARM — A community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18, from noon-2 p.m. at the Big Arm Fire Hall. All are welcome. Indoor yard sale supports RHS Close Up group
RONAN — The Ronan High School Close Up group is trying to raise money to go to D.C. next spring. On Nov. 18 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. they are going to host a Yard Sale/ Flea Market at the RHS gym. Students are offering vendor booth space for $25. Students will sell Indian Tacos, baked goodies, and refreshments as well.
