Gallery presents work of renowned artist through Nov. 11
POLSON — Takes Horse Gallery, 49487 US Highway 93, is proud to present “Art in Autumn,” an exhibition featuring the work of renowned artist John Gawne. A member of the CM Russell Museum’s elite Skull Society, John Gawne’s paintings of the western landscape and Native Americans are shown in some of the most prestigious galleries in the country. This is a unique opportunity see his work, as well as paintings by some of Montana’s and the Northwest’s best artists: John Gawne, David Dragonfly, DG House, Tabby Ivy, John Pepion, Rachel Warner and Shannon Webster. An opening reception will be held on Friday, Oct. 6, from 4-8 p.m. The exhibition will run from Oct. 6-Nov. 11.
Drivers’ Safety Class taught in Ronan

Family Halloween fun on tap at Ronan Library
RONAN — The Ronan Library will close at noon on Thursday, Oct. 26, to get ready for the family Halloween party set for 4-6 p.m. at the library (changed from the Community Center). There will be a costume contest and lots of fun and games. Plan on being there.
Swedish meal served at Harvest Dinner
POLSON — The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will hold its 47th annual Harvest Dinner of Swedish meatballs, potatoes, gravy, lefse, salad and dessert from 4-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, in the church fellowship hall. Dinner is $10 per adult, $5 per child under 12 years. Take-out orders will be available for pick up after 3 p.m. Call 406-883-5864 to place an order. Dinner proceeds will benefit Polson Rural Fire.
Watch movie shot in Montana at MOAM
POLSON — Miracle of America shows historic movies on their free “Night at the Museum” program. On Thursday, Oct. 26, at 6:30 p.m. “Timberjack,” a feature-length movie filmed in 1955 in Glacier National Park will be shown. Set in Montana in the late 1880s, two logging operators compete for survival. The Truecolor movie stars Sterling Hayden, Vera Ralston, and David Brian. Adolphe Menjou, Hoagy Carmichael and Chill Wills make character appearances. A portion of this movie was shot in Polson and is evident as you watch this action packed thriller. The public is welcome.
