Gallery presents work of renowned artist through Nov. 11
POLSON — Takes Horse Gallery, 49487 US Highway 93, is proud to present “Art in Autumn,” an exhibition featuring the work of renowned artist John Gawne. A member of the CM Russell Museum’s elite Skull Society, John Gawne’s paintings of the western landscape and Native Americans are shown in some of the most prestigious galleries in the country. This is a unique opportunity see his work, as well as paintings by some of Montana’s and the Northwest’s best artists: John Gawne, David Dragonfly, DG House, Tabby Ivy, John Pepion, Rachel Warner and Shannon Webster. An opening reception will be held on Friday, Oct. 6, from 4-8 p.m. The exhibition will run from Oct. 6-Nov. 11.

Spooky, spookier haunted houses open
RONAN — The RHS Advanced Theatre Arts students are having a haunted house on Oct. 27 and Oct. 30 at the Ronan Performing Arts Center. There is a kid-friendly version from 6-7 p.m. and then a spookier version from 8-10 p.m. Admission is $3 per person.
Drug Take Back event to be held at Walgreens
POLSON — Walgreens is hosting the Polson Police Department on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for a DEA Drug Take Back event. Customers can bring in unused/expired medications and we will dispose of them free of charge.
Harvest Dinner on tap
ST. IGNATIUS — The Mission Valley United Methodist Church invites you to the annual Harvest Dinner from 4-7 p.m. at the Church (top of Post Creek Hill) on Saturday, Oct. 28. Donations only; all proceeds go to the valley-wide causes.
Holiday shop early at Ninepipes
NINEPIPES — A Pre Holiday Bazaar will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Ninepipes banquet room, 69286 U.S. Highway 93, from9 a.m.-4 p.m. Get an early start on all of your shopping needs. LWML rally planned
POLSON — The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League will hold its fall rally on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Polson. A day of Bible study on life issues and a presentation by Jennifer Rolfsness in regard to Helping Hands and the ‘Baby Box’ project will be the day’s highlights. Monster Prom, carnival planned
RONAN — Bring the family to a fun carnival on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 7-11 p.m. at 35982 Round Butte Road, (across from the VFW). The cost is $5 per person with family discounts available.

POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library invites all to our very own International Observe the Moon Night event on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 6:30 p.m. We will have a brief, family-friendly presentation followed by several handson activities and the chance to take a peek at the moon through a telescope. This event has been made possible by the North Lake County Public Library’s NASA@ MyLibrary grant, the generosity of our local residents, and a little elbow grease. We hope to launch an amateur astronomy club in Polson over the next year, and hope you’ll come on board even if you can’t attend every event.
