Gallery presents work of renowned artist through Nov. 11
POLSON — Takes Horse Gallery, 49487 US Highway 93, is proud to present “Art in Autumn,” an exhibition featuring the work of renowned artist John Gawne. A member of the CM Russell Museum’s elite Skull Society, John Gawne’s paintings of the western landscape and Native Americans are shown in some of the most prestigious galleries in the country. This is a unique opportunity see his work, as well as paintings by some of Montana’s and the Northwest’s best artists: John Gawne, David Dragonfly, DG House, Tabby Ivy, John Pepion, Rachel Warner and Shannon Webster. An opening reception will be held on Friday, Oct. 6, from 4-8 p.m. The exhibition will run from Oct. 6-Nov. 11.
Enjoy chili, treats in safety

Bazaar proceeds benefit Mission Outreach
POLSON — The annual Fall Bazaar and luncheon is being held at the United Methodist Church, 301 Sixteenth Ave. E, on Friday, Nov. 3. Lunch menu offers soup, sandwich, apple dumpling topped with ice cream from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Art, crafts, baked goods will be sold from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. All proceeds benefit local and church-wide Mission Outreach.

Pancake breakfast to raise funds at Yellow Bay
YELLOW BAY — The Yellow Bay Community Club will serve a pancake, eggs, ham and sausages breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m.-noon, at the clubhouse located on Highway 35 at mile-maker 18. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 8 and under. The event includes a bake sale, and new and gently used holiday decorations will be available for purchase. A silent auction featuring Hazel Conway’s one-of-kind crib blankets will be available to bidders during the event. All proceeds will be donated to charities and upkeep of the historic clubhouse building.

Equestrian writers to present at meeting
RONAN — Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen’s next monthly meeting is on Nov. 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the VFW in Ronan. Kent and Charlene Krone, who write equestrian articles in the horse magazine “Trail Rider,” will be the meeting presenters. These equestrian travelers write articles about their experiences and their favorite places to camp and ride. They offer invaluable information from the equestrians’ perspective. They will show two DVDs with the total length of about 25 minutes. Our meetings are open to members and non-members alike.
Quilters change meeting time, place
RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the Ronan LDS Church. Anyone who would like to help with the 2018 raffle quilt can join those working on it at 4:00 p.m. The regular meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. Remember to invite someone to the meeting and bring your show and tell. For anyone doing the Christmas Challenge: remember your item has to be done and turned in at the meeting. 'Sparkle On’ at the library
POLSON — “Sparkle On,” an adult coloring program, will be held at North Lake County Public Library in Polson on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 2:30 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. The theme of this pre-holiday program is “all things glittery.” A new trend in the world of coloring relaxation is Paint by Sticker. RONAN — Students at Glacier View School, 36332 Mud Creek Lane, have prepared a short program honoring veterans and it will be followed by a delicious and free hot meal. Students want to thank you for your service and remind you that they have not forgotten you or your sacrifices for our freedom. Fun, mystery play performed by RMS
RONAN — The Ronan Middle School will perform a play on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Ronan Performing Arts Center. It is called Aunt Maggity’s Dark and Stormy Night and is a fun mystery play. There are laughs a-plenty and personalities galore in this light-hearted romp of a mystery that has a little bit of everything. This play has it all – from creepy spiders, suspense and comedic chaos comes a sense of familial love, forgiveness, and what just might be the first happy ending. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Marines celebrate 242nd birthday
POLSON — The Marine Corps’ 242nd Birthday Celebration with a silent auction will be held on Friday, Nov. 10, at the Polson VFW Post upstairs. Proceeds from the Silent Auction will go to the Hellroaring Detachment Scholarship Program. The evening begins with a no-host social hour at 6 p.m., a cake-cutting ceremony at 6:30 p.m., introductions at 6:45 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. This event is open to families and the public. The Award Ceremony and results of the silent auction will start at 8 p.m. This year’s dinner menu features a buffet consisting of prime rib and stuffed pork chop with all the trimmings. Montecahto Club holds Christmas sale
POLSON – The Montecahto Club is holding a Holiday/Christmas Sale at their east shore clubhouse on Friday, Nov. 10, and Saturday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. The non-profit club will be selling high quality, lightly used Thanksgiving and Christmas items. PHS to present play on two nights
POLSON — The Polson High School Theater Production Club will present “Dr. Evil and the Basket of Kittens” on Nov. 10 and 11 at 7 p.m. at Polson High School. Admission costs $5 for school-aged children, $8 for adults and Pre-K children are free. There will be a bake sale during intermission.

Open gym event supports Close Up Program
POLSON — An open gym will be held at Head Over Heels, 101 Whitewater Place, Suite B, to help students raise money for a trip to Washington D.C. and NYC. All proceeds raised go to the Ronan High School students within the Close Up Program. The event takes place on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m.-noon. The cost is $10 per person for non-members, $8 per person for members and parents are free with their paying children.

POLSON — Veterans will receive free admission to the Miracle of America Museum on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in commemoration of Veterans Day, previously known as Armistice Day. Veterans eat for free
ARLEE —A veterans’ spaghetti dinner will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 4-8 p.m. at the Arlee Indian Senior Center. All veterans eat for free. For all others prices are: adults $7; kids 5-12 years old $5; a family of four $20 with additional members $5. All proceeds go to services for local veterans. The menu includes spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and dessert. There will also be a 50/50 drawing.

ARLEE — Auditions are open for students in grades K-12 to be part of Missoula Children’s Theatre’s production of “Treasure Island” and will take place in the 3-6 building’s multipurpose room on Monday, Nov. 13, from 4:05-6:05 p.m. Permission slips were sent home on Tuesday, Nov. 7, and should have been signed and returned by Thursday, Nov. 9.
