Back Country Horsemen to meet
RONAN – Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will hold their next monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6, at the VFW in Ronan. Kent and Charlene Krone will present a program with DVDs set to music about riding in the West with their horses. These seasoned equestrian travelers have journeyed with their horses from California to Missouri and from Texas to Canada and write articles about their favorite places to camp and ride in the magazine Trail Rider. They offer invaluable information from an equestrian’s perspective. You don’t want to miss this one folks.
Quilters gather for regular meeting
RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the Ronan LDS Church. Refreshments will be provided by Christy G., Lareld G., Donna C. and Debbie T. Be sure to invite someone to the guild and don’t forget your show and tell.

Community dance planned
POLSON – Dance at the Elks' ballroom, on Nov. 7 from 7 to 10 p.m., to the Ken’s Country Combo. They play a variety of vintage country and rock & roll (pop) tunes that you can vary your dancing to a waltz, one or two step, cha cha, etc. Dress is casual. The valley showed they have an interest in old country/ rock & roll etc., type music by the attendance at Cowboy Country and The Gold Dust Girls dance, held at the Elks a few weeks ago. So, if you want a place to dance, please come and join us on the first and third Wednesday of each month. We provide snacks at 8:30 during break. Cover charge is $5. Drinks, soft drinks and water are available for purchase in the bar. Please come and join the fun.

RONAN – Attention veterans and families: join the students of Glacier View School for a Veterans Celebration Program at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8. Students have prepared a short program followed by a delicious meal, served hot. Save the date and let the students thank you for your service. ARLEE — The Arlee Brown Building Committee will partner with the Hangin’ Art Gallery for the 2018 annual Arlee Bazaar, on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Vendors will sell crafts, gifts and assorted items at both locations. There will be a chili and fry bread lunch available for purchase at the Brown Building as well as assorted pies sold by the piece. West Shore Community Church hosts Thanksgiving dinner
BIG ARM – West Shore Community Church in Big Arm is hosting its 6th annual community Thanksgiving dinner from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Big Arm Fire Station. A traditional Thanksgiving dinner including turkey and all the fixings along with pumpkin and apple pie for dessert will be served at no cost to the public. Veterans honored with free museum admission
POLSON — Sunday, Nov. 11, marks the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice to end World War I. That day, the Miracle of America Museum is offering free admission to all veterans as well as giving out free pocket constitutions. The museum is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. The WWI exhibit is just one of the many and diversified exhibits that have been enlarged and improved recently.

Government contracting workshop planned
PABLO – Robert Much from Native American Development Corp’s Procurement Tech Assistance Center will be conducting a Government Contracting 101 workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the CSKT IT computer training room in the lower level of the Old Tribal Complex in Pablo. The workshop will cover the basics of government contracting and online certifications needed to do business with the government. Following the training, Much will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 14 for government contracting counseling assistance. Daughters of the American Revolution to meet

Middle school theatre group presents ‘The Lady Pirates of the Carribbean’
RONAN – Coming soon will be a swashbuckling pirate comedy performed by the very talented Ronan Middle School theatre group. The play “The Lady Pirates of the Caribbean” will be a combination of gold, orphaned children, notorious pirates, a shipwreck, walking the plank, and a classic sword fight. Lots of fun for all. One performance will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15 at the Ronan Performing Arts Center. All tickets will be sold at the door and cost $5 each.
Speaker addresses partner violence
POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Thursday of each month at the KwaTaqNuk Resort’s Koostatah room, from noon-1 p.m. Join us on Thursday, Nov. 15, when our speaker will be Bonnie Klein on behalf of PEACE (Prevention and Education of Abuse in Christian Environments). PEACE is a non-profit corporation that raises awareness and provides resources for clergy, victims and perpetrators of intimate partner violence in the Christian community.

POLSON — On Saturday, Nov. 17, at 11 a.m. the North Lake County Library will show “Worlds of Ursula K. LeGuin,” a documentary on the life of the influential fantasy and science-fiction author Ursula K. Le Guin. This hour long documentary will explore Ursula’s works and her life story.
