Country Jam, dances cancelled

POLSON — Our Classic Country Jammin’ scheduled for April 5, at the Elks Ballroom in Polson is cancelled until further notice. Wednesday night dances at the Elks’ ballroom in Polson are also cancelled until further notice. We pray that everyone is staying home and being safe. We do have to go out for essentials and that is okay. Lake City Bakery, McDonalds and Burgerville are open in Polson for take outs. We are all in this together and need to help each other wherever we can, physically or financially. Please encourage one another and we will all get through this. Don’t be prideful and not ask for help, if you really need it. This hardship we are going through may take a little time but if we all work together and for each other, it will pass. We hope to see you all again very soon.

Horsemen stay home for April

RONAN — Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will not be holding their next monthly meeting in April due to the Covid-19 and CDC guidelines for social distancing and gatherings. Stay at home unless absolutely necessary and be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Stay safe.

Library begins monthly movie night

POLSON — Enjoy “Friday Night at the Library” on the fourth Friday of each month. North Lake County Library will show movies rated PG or PG-13 ( posted on our website) and make fresh popcorn. This program debuts Friday, Jan. 25. Be in the library before 6 p.m. to be included. Feel free to bring your own nonalcoholic beverage and snacks.

Spring Mack Days event postponed News from CSKT

FLATHEAD LAKE — Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Spring Mack Days event has been postponed until further notice. This decision was made by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Council in support of Governor Steve Bullock’s stay-at-home order. The governor’s order went into effect on Saturday, March 28. The CSKT Tribal Fisheries Program and CSKT’s Tribal Council will evaluate the situation by April 10 when the governor could lift the order. Celebrate Recovery ministers to anyone

POLSON — Celebrate Recovery Ministry takes place at Polson Foursquare on Sundays between 5-8 p.m.

All are welcome to join us each Sunday evening. CR is a Christ-centered 12-step recovery ministry for anyone with hurts, habits or hang-ups. Discussion forum meets last Thursday of month

POLSON — Join our ongoing “last Thursday of the month” meetings held from 4-5 p.m. (or beyond) at The Good Coffee Roasting Company, 201 Third Ave., right behind Stutzman’s Furniture on U.S. Highway 93. “Polson Gather Round - Walk With the World” is a community discussion forum, where we discuss what is on our minds. We also discuss possible solutions, and specifically how they are related to climate change solutions. Thinking must be elevated past the political parties, and solutions should be fostered by community collaboration, as it relates specifically to the climate topic.  Montecahto Club invites new members

 POLSON — The Montecahto Club meets the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. We are a social and service organization and sponsor a scholarship for a graduating senior, cook and serve lunch at “Soup’s On,” collect for the Food Bank, send Care packages to the overseas troops and help out wherever we can. Recovery support available

RONAN —Recovery support is available for those struggling with addiction at The Never Alone Recovery Hall (Hwy. 93, old Boys and Girls Club), every day of the week. The Never Alone Recovery Hall is a peer support dropin center. We are simply recovering people offering our experience, strength, and hope to our community members who are struggling with addiction issues. All groups and services are free. Please feel welcome to drop in and check us out.

On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays a noon meditation group is held and from 1-5 p.m. individual peer support is available.

Mondays a women’s support group takes place from 6-8 p.m.

Tuesdays there are recovery stories and videos heard from 6-8 p.m.

Wednesdays Narcotics Anonymous meets from 6-8 p.m.

Thursdays an early recovery skills groups meets from 6-8 p.m.

Fridays from 8-9 p.m. The Red Road to Recovery group meets.

Saturdays a co-dependent support group meets at 5 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m. special events take place (events change).

Family movie night happens from 6-8 p.m. on Sundays.

St. Joseph, Glacier Bank conduct food drive through Dec. 19

POLSON —Providence St. Joseph Medical Center and Glacier Bank are collecting food for local food banks this holiday season. Collection points are located at the Glacier Bank main branch on U.S. Highway 93 in Polson and in the St. Joseph Medical Center lobby. The food drive will begin Friday, Nov. 29, and culminates Thursday, Dec. 19, at the Polson Chamber of Commerce SPLASH between 5-7 p.m. at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center, 6 Thirteenth Ave. E.

Concert to benefit Toys for Tots


POLSON — The Lake Bar presents a free “Make a Kid Smile” concert on Dec. 13 from 6 p.m. to closing. Bring an unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots program and listen to three bands perform: “Off in the Woods,” “The Slickbacks,” and “Free Radicals.”

PHS choral group to perform in Big Arm


BIG ARM — The Big Arm Association will host the Polson High School choral group at our annual Christmas program on Friday, Dec. 13, at the Big Arm Historic School House. ST. IGNATIUS — The Mission Valley Ranch Hands 4-H Club Christmas Bazaar will be held from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. at the St. Ignatius Community Center on Saturday, Dec. 14. This annual event is a great place to find gifts and has been for more than 30 years. There will be many vendors, local products, 4-H concessions and more.

Glacier Lake School presents play

RONAN — Glacier Lake School presents a play with Bugsy, Fat Sam and Blousey on Dec. 17 and 18 at the Grey Leaf Gallery on Main Street. The performance begins at 6 p.m. and tickets are $5 and $10. Watch as Bugsy Malone, a one-time boxer, is thrust not-so-willingly into the gangster limelight when he becomes the last chance that Fat Sam’s gang has of surviving. All Bugsy really wants to do is spend time with his new love, Blousey, but that just isn’t in the cards for our hero. This performance is limited to 60 people per night, so hurry to buy your tickets.

Join community dance fun


POLSON — Please join us for the community dance at the Elks on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 7-10 p.m. Music is provided by Ken’s Country Combo playing a variety of classic country and vintage rock and roll. POLSON — Join classic country jammin’ at the Elks on Main Street for a great afternoon of music and fun on Sunday, Jan. 5, from 1-4 p.m. Bring your guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, autoharp, base, keyboard, drum, sax, etc., and come join us for a few hours of jamming and dancing on Sunday afternoon. 

If you plan to play, you must bring your own instrument. This is a new jam that will be at the Elks every first Sunday of each month.

POLSON — On Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, from 2-3:30 p.m., the North Lake County Public library will offer an adult coloring program entitled, “South of the Border.” The holidays are over and everyone is ready to head south for some sunshine and warmer temperatures. Let’s make our own heat right here in the library and have some fun with an activity full of vibrant color, Latin rhythm and spicy snacks. We provide the coloring supplies or you may bring your own. Producer grants workshop held
