‘Old Find New Discovery’ art show at Sandpiper through Feb. 23

POLSON — The Sandpiper Art and Gift Gallery begins 2018 with a fundraising campaign with a twist. This will be a non-juried open show until Feb. 23. Our members will donate some of their favorite works by other artists for resale at reduced prices. Discover lots of fine local art at great prices.

Adult Formation classes taught through Lent

ARLEE — Fr. Hightower will lead an Adult Formation Lenten series at Sacred Heart in Arlee. The sessions will be on Thursdays evening from 6:30-8 p.m. We will cover Church history and then focus on scripture. Come as you are or invite your friends. Light refreshments will be provided.  

View quilts at Polson businesses through Feb. 24

POLSON — Join us for All In Stitches’ 17th annual Walk Around Polson Quilt Show. Quilts will hang in businesses on Main Street from Saturday, Feb. 10, through Saturday, Feb. 24. Plan some time to pick up a ballot at All In Stitches and walk around Polson to vote on your favorite quilts by Feb. 21. Ribbons will be hung Feb. 22. If you’d like to participate in this year’s show, please drop off your quilts by Feb. 7 at the shop. View variety of mediums at ‘Mixing It Up’ art show through April 6

POLSON — The Sandpiper Art and Gift Gallery, 306 Main Street, welcomes you to “Mixing It Up,” Feb. 27-April 6. This is a non-juried art show, open to all artists. Artistic interpretation of the theme in any medium will be accepted. There is a small entry fee for non-Sandpiper member artists. Visit the website for more information. A reception for the show’s artists will be held on Friday, March 2, from 5-7 p.m. at the gallery.

Celebrate Recovery ministers to anyone

POLSON — Celebrate Recovery Ministry takes place at Polson Foursquare on Sundays between 5-8 p.m.

All are welcome to join us each Sunday evening. CR is a Christ-centered 12-step recovery ministry for anyone with hurts, habits or hang-ups. POLSON -- Soul-food Saturday is a community gathering at the Co-op HUB to share prayers, readings and discussion on the topic of unity, followed by a light meal. Kids of all ages are welcome; supervision is provided.

New hours announced for MO

POLSON — Miracle of America’s hours are now 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 1:30-6 p.m. on Sundays. Some holidays may be shorter hours as well, so it is best to call 406-883-6804 first. Our free “Night at the Museum” is on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Donations or treats are always welcome. Schoolteachers are encouraged to give extra credit for a report from attending students.

Montecahto Club invites new members

 POLSON — The Montecahto Club meets the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. We are a social and service organization and sponsor a scholarship for a graduating senior, cook and serve lunch at “Soup’s On,” collect for the Food Bank, send Care packages to the overseas troops and help out wherever we can. We welcome new members. Come to a meeting and get to know us.

'Quilt Walk Around Polson' quilt show Feb. 11 through 25

POLSON — The 16th Annual All In Stitches Quilt Walk Around Polson quilt show starts today. Everyone is invited to vote for their favorite quilts displayed in businesses on Main Street from Feb. 11-22. You can pick up your ballots at All In Stitches. Ribbons will be hung on the winning quilts on Feb. 23 and quilts will be on display through Feb. 25.

Group to honor Gold, Eagle Scouts


POLSON — Officers and members of the Marine Corps League Hellroaring Detachment 1041 invite all Lake and Sanders County Eagle and Gold Scouts to their first Eagle and Gold Scouts Recognition Dinner on Feb. 18 at the Polson Fullerton VFW Post 2986. This is an RSVP only event and the deadline is Feb. 10. The cost of the dinner is $5 each or $15 per family of four. The dinner is free for 2016-17 Eagle or Gold Scout recipients. New program begins at library


POLSON — Starting on Feb. 18, North Lake County Public Library will host a new program called Weekend Wigglers, featuring books, crafts, games, and fun for all. Support Soup’s On at Winter Fest fundraiser


POLSON — The eighth annual Winter Fest, a fundraiser for Soup’s On, the community kitchen in Polson, will be held at the Elks Club in Polson on Feb. 18. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. Don’t miss song writer and performer Rob Quist with his daughter, Halladay Quist, beginning around 8 p.m. The live auction will feature a leather bound collection of novels by the author Louis L’Amour. Local artists have designed beautifully authentic “Chairity” chairs, unique in their style and medium, to be auctioned as well. Quilter Barbara Smith has donated a grizzly quilt to be raffled off during the event. Please come, bring your friends, family and neighbors. This is a very valuable service to your community and worth supporting.
