Learn to crochet through Feb. 25
POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library’s popular “Needle Arts Series” is back. Crochet is back. The library is happy to provide four crochet sessions in February as part of our ongoing fiber arts series. Mark your calendars now with these dates: Feb.4, 11, 18 and 25 at 2 p.m. in the library meeting room. Please bring your crochet hook and yarn (cotton recommended). Hooks are also available for $5 in our gift shop. There will also be yarn on hand.

Locals share highlights of Machu Picchu trip
POLSON — The Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Thursday of each month at KwaTaqNuk Resort, Koostatah room from noon-1 p.m. Please join us on Thursday, Feb. 20, when we will have a Machu Picchu trip in review. Three local men, James Manley, Dennis DeVries and Brodie Moll will tell of their recent trip to the sacred site of Machu Picchu in the high Andean peaks of Peru. The speakers will also bring in some personal stories and humor to entertain us.

SPLASH to be held at Polson Chamber office
POLSON —The Polson Chamber February Support Polson Late Afternoon Social Hour sponsor is the Polson Chamber of Commerce. The event will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 5-7 p.m. at the Polson Chamber of Commerce office, 402 First St. E number 102. Cost of entry is $2, which directly supports the Polson Chamber of Commerce Fireworks Fund. Story time, scavenger hunt for children held
RONAN — On Thursday, Feb. 20, beginning at 11 a.m., Ronan District Library’s “Children’s Story Time” will be about lost and found: hear lost and found adventures and participate in a group scavenger hunt. The program includes reading, activities and crafts for preschool and elementary school age children, but all ages are welcome. The library is located at 203 Main Street, SW.

Johnny B plays piano
POLSON — Watch and listen on Friday, Feb. 21, at Polson High School auditorium, at 7 p.m., as Johnny B, the “Piano Man,” goes beyond a musical performance, mixing music with storytelling and photography. It is sure to be an entertaining multi-media presentation as he depicts life on the beautiful Flathead Reservation and the influence the Flathead Lake plays in our lives.
Meeting, potluck on tap for Ronan Cooperative Brewery
RONAN — You are invited to attend on Friday, Feb. 21, at the Grey Leaf Gallery, 400 Main Street, The Ronan Cooperative Brewery’s annual membership meeting. Daines’ rep to speak at Pachyderm meeting
POLSON — The Lake County Pachyderms invite the community to hear the northwest field representative for Steve Daines, Ron Catlett, speak on the Montana Water Rights Protection Act bill S-3019. On Friday, Feb. 28, from noon to 1 p.m. Catlett will share on behalf of the Senator’s office reasons why Daines introduced the bill and why he believes it is in the best interest of Montanans to see it passed in Congress. The meeting takes place at the Polson Rural Fire Station off Regatta Road in Polson.

Jam at Elks
POLSON — Classic Country Jammin’ will be held on March 1 in the Elks’ ballroom on Main Street from 1– 4 p.m. The time change is to allow for winter conditions and early sunset. This event takes place every first Sunday of the month. Bring your guitar, banjo, mandolin, autoharp, fiddle, drum, bass, sax, keyboard, etc., and join us for a few hours of fun. Bring your own amp or you may play acoustic. Everyone is welcome to play, sing, dance or just listen. We will have coffee and snacks for you. You do not have to be an Elk member to utilize the bar next door. The cover charge is $5 and there is no charge for singers or players. Learn to knit through March 31
POLSON — More needle arts begin in March at the North Lake County Public Library. “Knitting Basics” returns with four sessions on March 10, 17, 24 and 31 from 2-3 p.m. in the library meeting room. Beginning knitters, this class is for you. Master knitters Linda Kittle and Julie Hille can answer any questions you have. They also have the flexibility to help you finish the heel of that sock. Bring your projects and any knitting supplies you have on hand (yarn and needles). We will provide instruction, inspiration and can fill in with donated supplies from area knitters. See you there.

RONAN — Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will meet on Tuesday, March 3, at Terrace Lake Community Church, 35663 Terrace Lake Road, at 4 p.m. Prior to the regular meeting, Robyn Schock will provide instruction for making placemat tote bags. Polson community dance held at Elks
POLSON — Please join us for the community dance in the Elks Ballroom on Main Street from 7-10 p.m. This will be our birthday dance for this month as our March 18 dance has been preempted by another event.
