Give food for fines at city court
POLSON — Polson City Court, (106 First Street, E), will hold their annual “Food for Fines” drive from Feb. 4 -28, Mondays-Thursdays from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Defendants with existing fines may reduce the amount owed by donating non-perishable, non-expired food.

Polson families invited to dinner, activity night
POLSON — Attention all K-12 Polson School District families - You are invited to the monthly family activity night, hosted by Polson- School District and the State Tribal Education Partnership Program on Thursday, Feb. 21, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Polson High School cafeteria. This month’s theme will be science, technology, engineering, art and math activities. Speakers to discuss new Polson building
POLSON — The Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Thursday each month at the KwaTaqNuk Resort Koostatah room from noon-1 p.m. Our speakers on Thursday, Feb. 21, will be Aric Cooksley, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of the Flathead Nation, and Judy Preston, chair of the Capital Fund Drive. They will inform us of the plans for breaking ground for a new building in Polson.

PABLO — The SKC theater is the site for the showing of “Dark Money,” hosted by Mission Valley Rises: Democracy Engaged! The movie is on loan from the Flathead Reservation Human Rights Coalition. The movie begins at 1 p.m. and discussion will follow.

POLSON — A Zen meditation class is being offered at the YogaHeart Studio, 314 Main Street, on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 6 p.m. The class will be presented by Zen Priest Zenku, Jerry Smyers. RONAN — Ronan High School’s Close Up group will host a local yard sale/flea market in the gym at Ronan High School on Saturday, March 2, from 9 a.m.– 2 p.m. RHS seniors are raising funds to go to Washington D.C. and New York to see first-hand how our government works. There will baked goods, furniture, and many products for sale. We would love to see you there.

‘Love Lives Here’ founder to speak
POLSON — Rabbi Allen Secher, one of the founders of “Love Lives Here,” will speak on Sunday, March 3, at 11:15 a.m., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 409 Fourth Ave E. Rabbi Secher is a civil rights activist and one of the recipients of anti-Semitic action by a neo-Nazis group in 2016. He will discuss the reaction of communities to hate groups. All interested community members are welcome to attend.
Join Northwest Accordion Association jam/dance
POLSON — The Northwest Accordion Association’s community jam/dance will be held on March 3 from 2-5:00 p.m. at the Elks in Polson. There will be a variety of music, not just accordion music, to listen or dance to. You do not have to be an Elks or Accordion Association member to attend, sing or play. If you sing or play you don’t pay. Admission is $2 for members, $3 for non-members, and $5 to become a member of the association. Everyone is welcome, to play, sing, dance or just listen. Come join the fun.

Hear legislative update
RONAN — The community will have an opportunity to hear a legislative update on March 5 at the Boys and Girls Club in Ronan at 7 p.m. Greg Hertz, Dan Salomon and Joe Read will present key updates and answer questions about upcoming bills. This event is a cooperative effort by the Lake County Republican Central Committee, Democratic Central Committee, Mission Valley Rises, Pachyderm and the Northwest Counties Farm Bureau. Horsemen discuss Dutch oven cooking
RONAN — Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will hold their next monthly meeting on March 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the VFW on Round Butte Road. This month’s program will be on Dutch oven cooking presented by Connie Long. Mack and Connie Long live in Charlo and own Bob Marshall Wilderness Outfitters. Quilters meet, offer class
RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will meet on Tuesday, March 5, at the Terrace Lake Community Church at 6:30 p.m. Prior to the meeting refreshments will be served.
