Give food for fines at city court
POLSON — Polson City Court, (106 First Street, E), will hold their annual “Food for Fines” drive from Feb. 4 -28, Mondays-Thursdays from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Defendants with existing fines may reduce the amount owed by donating non-perishable, non-expired food.

Help RHS Close Up get to Washington, New York
RONAN — Ronan High School’s Close Up group will host a local yard sale/flea market in the gym at Ronan High School on Saturday, March 2, from 9 a.m.– 2 p.m. RHS seniors are raising funds to go to Washington D.C. and New York to see first-hand how our government works. There will baked goods, furniture, and many products for sale. We would love to see you there.

‘Love Lives Here’ founder to speak
POLSON — Rabbi Allen Secher, one of the founders of “Love Lives Here,” will speak on Sunday, March 3, at 11:15 a.m., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 409 Fourth Ave E. Rabbi Secher is a civil rights activist and one of the recipients of anti-Semitic action by a neo-Nazis group in 2016. He will discuss the reaction of communities to hate groups. All interested community members are welcome to attend.
Join Northwest Accordion Association jam/dance
POLSON — The Northwest Accordion Association’s community jam/dance will be held on March 3 from 2-5:00 p.m. at the Elks in Polson. There will be a variety of music, not just accordion music, to listen or dance to. You do not have to be an Elks or Accordion Association member to attend, sing or play. If you sing or play you don’t pay. Admission is $2 for members, $3 for non-members, and $5 to become a member of the association. Everyone is welcome, to play, sing, dance or just listen. Come join the fun.

Hear legislative update
RONAN — The community will have an opportunity to hear a legislative update on March 5 at the Boys and Girls Club in Ronan at 7 p.m. Greg Hertz, Dan Salomon and Joe Read will present key updates and answer questions about upcoming bills. This event is a cooperative effort by the Lake County Republican Central Committee, Democratic Central Committee, Mission Valley Rises, Pachyderm and the Northwest Counties Farm Bureau. Horsemen discuss Dutch oven cooking
RONAN — Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will hold their next monthly meeting on March 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the VFW on Round Butte Road. This month’s program will be on Dutch oven cooking presented by Connie Long. Mack and Connie Long live in Charlo and own Bob Marshall Wilderness Outfitters. Quilters meet, offer class
RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will meet on Tuesday, March 5, at the Terrace Lake Community Church at 6:30 p.m. Prior to the meeting refreshments will be served. Lewings to discuss PPP history
POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club will meet on March 7 at noon downstairs at KwaTaq-Nuk Resort. Speakers will be our famous Neil and Karen Lewing from the Port Polson Players. The Lewings will discuss their three-decade plus history of putting on plays in the beautiful theater on Flathead Lake. In particular, they will talk about Port Polson’s contribution to the youth in the area. Many young people have grown up with the program and some of their children (and grandchildren) have also performed. The public is welcome to attend.

Sassy dames perform folk music
POLSON — Mission Valley Live presents Rosie and the Riveters, a fiercely talented group of sassy dames from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, who perform uplifting folk music with a vintage 1940s flair. They will perform at Polson High School in the auditorium on Friday, March 8, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door, $13 in advance (available at First Interstate Bank and Perfect Shot Tavern in Polson and R & R Healthcare Solutions and Ronan True Value in Ronan). Youth 18 and under are free. College students with ID are $5.
Transitional kindergarten registration held
ST. IGNATIUS — St. Ignatius School District is holding transitional kindergarten registration on Friday, March 8, from 8:15-11:45 a.m. and 1-2:15 p.m. You will need to make an appointment. Students must be 4 years old by Sept. 10, 2019. Please bring with you: the student, student’s birth certificate, student’s immunization record, proof of residency (copy of electric bill), Tribal enrollment information, and any applicable custody papers. Discuss human trafficking, learn self-defense
ST. IGNATIUS — The Flathead Valley Human Rights Coalition will hold a conversation on human trafficking and self-defense. The focus will be on women and girls but everyone is welcome. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Mission Valley United Methodist Church, (70715 Highway 93). The Lifeguard Group and Lowell Hochhalter will present. Club to make baskets for Special Olympics’ auction
FINLEY POINT – The Montecahto Club will meet at the Finley Point Grill on Wednesday, March 13, at 1 p.m.
In addition to their regular agenda, club members will be making wine-and-cheese baskets to donate to the Special Olympics fundraising auction. The Montecahto Club welcomes new members. People’s Center holds classes, activities
