Sunday, March 1
Jam at Elks
POLSON — Classic Country Jammin’ will be held on March 1 in the Elks’ ballroom on Main Street from 1– 4 p.m. The time change is to allow for winter conditions and early sunset. This event takes place every first Sunday of the month. Bring your guitar, banjo, mandolin, autoharp, fiddle, drum, bass, sax, keyboard, etc., and join us for a few hours of fun. Bring your own amp or you may play acoustic. Everyone is welcome to play, sing, dance or just listen. We will have coffee and snacks for you. You do not have to be an Elk member to utilize the bar next door. The cover charge is $5 and there is no charge for singers or players. Learn to knit through March 31
POLSON — More needle arts begin in March at the North Lake County Public Library. “Knitting Basics” returns with four sessions on March 10, 17, 24 and 31 from 2-3 p.m. in the library meeting room. Beginning knitters, this class is for you. Master knitters Linda Kittle and Julie Hille can answer any questions you have. They also have the flexibility to help you finish the heel of that sock. Bring your projects and any knitting supplies you have on hand (yarn and needles). We will provide instruction, inspiration and can fill in with donated supplies from area knitters. See you there.

Horsemen to discuss projects, more
RONAN — Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will hold their next monthly meeting on March 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the VFW on Round Butte Rd. We will discuss our upcoming work projects, trail rides, and our annual steak ride at the Meuli Ranch in Dayton on May 3, among other discussions. Make placemat tote bags with quilters
RONAN — Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will meet on Tuesday, March 3, at Terrace Lake Community Church, 35663 Terrace Lake Road, at 4 p.m. Prior to the regular meeting, Robyn Schock will provide instruction for making placemat tote bags. Bring your machines and supplies (or $5). Enjoy refreshments and mingle time just before the meeting which starts at 6:30 p.m. Remember to bring fat quarters and show-n-tells. Come check out the education class schedules. Kay Krantz will present an educational/instructional technique at the meeting. Guests of all skill levels are welcome.

Polson Chamber meets for monthly luncheon
POLSON — The Polson Chamber’s monthly luncheon will be held at noon on Wednesday, March 4, at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. Representatives from the Salish Kootenai College Career Services and Internship Program will make a presentation on the wide variety of internship placement opportunities currently available to Polson area businesses. Polson community dance held at Elks
POLSON — Please join us for the community dance in the Elks Ballroom on Main Street from 7-10 p.m. This will be our birthday dance for this month as our March 18 dance has been preempted by another event. Music is by Ken’s Country Combo playing a variety of classic country and vintage rock and roll. Snacks are provided during the 8:30 p.m. No Elk membership is required. The cover charge is $5. New coloring experience offered
POLSON — Enjoy “Adult Coloring: Color Outside the Lines” on Thursday, March 5, from 2-3:30 p.m. in the North Lake County Public Library’s meeting room. The library has hosted a popular coloring program since 2016. We have always stayed inside the lines, but no more. This time we will doodle our own lines and mandalas. Please join us for this new experience. All supplies are provided and a spring snack. This program is free and open to the public.
Polson Flathead Lake Museum discussed at Kiwanis Club meeting
POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club meet the first and third Thursday of each month at the KwaTaqNuk Resort, Koostatah Room from noon-1 pm. Join us on March 5 when our speaker will be Karen Dunwell from the Polson Flathead Lake Museum. She will update us on the progress of the funding for the new roof as well as new exhibits planned for the coming season.

Free the Seeds! 5th Annual Fair Join Free the Seeds! on March 7, 2020, 9 am-3:30 pm, at Flathead Valley Community College, Kalispell, Montana, for our 5th annual fair. This is a FREE community-powered event that encourages people to build a sustainable and resilient future through real seeds, real food, and real skills. The annual daylong fair features a giant seed swap, 40+ booths, 24 skill-building workshops, 4 panel discussions, and kids’ activities (ages 8+). Every aspect of the event emphasizes the importance of a strong local food system and each attendee’s role in it. Bagpipe band to play in Polson
POLSON — St. Patrick’s celebration is coming early to Polson this Leap Year. The Great Scots Pipe and Drum Corp will perform locally on Friday, March 13. Their schedule is as follows: Cherry Valley Elementary School at 9:40 a.m.; Providence St Joseph Assisted Living Center at 1 p.m.; Polson VFW on Main Street at 3 p.m.; South Shore Lounge on Anchor Way near the Y at 4 p.m.; and Friendship Table at the Presbyterian Church at 5 p.m. This is a free dinner open to the public. The menu includes a Scottish fare. The church is located on Fourth Ave. across from Linderman School. Knudsen to discuss drugs, constitutional rights
POLSON — The Lake County Pachyderm invites the community to hear Austin Knudsen, the candidate for Attorney General for the State of Montana, as a guest speaker on Friday, March 13, from noon- 1 p.m. He will discuss drug and methamphetamine problems, along with attacks on our constitutional rights and other issues facing the state of Montana. The meeting is at Polson Rural Fire Department off Regatta Road.
Support Chiefs and Maidens, play in dodgeball tourney
