Chili cook off planned at horsemen meeting
RONAN — Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will hold their next monthly meeting on Feb. 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the VFW on Round Butte Rd. in Ronan. Something new has been added to the meeting ... it will be a chili cook off. Come and sample and vote for your choice and then stay for the meeting. Enjoy the camaraderie of this organization on the trails and around the campfire. Spring is right around the corner folks.
Learn to crochet through Feb. 25
POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library’s popular “Needle Arts Series” is back. Crochet is back. The library is happy to provide four crochet sessions in February as part of our ongoing fiber arts series. Mark your calendars now with these dates: Feb.4, 11, 18 and 25 at 2 p.m. in the library meeting room. Please bring your crochet hook and yarn (cotton recommended). Hooks are also available for $5 in our gift shop. There will also be yarn on hand.

Ken’s Country Combo plays
POLSON — Join us for the community dance at the Elks on Main Street on Wednesday, Feb. 5, from 7-10 p.m. Music is provided by Ken’s Country Combo playing a variety of classic country and vintage rock and roll. Snacks are provided during the break at 8:30. No Elk membership is required. The cover charge is $5. Come early for a good hamburger as Elk members will be cooking 5-7 p.m. prior to our dance. Everyone is welcome.

Film documents race relations in Charleston
The film "Emanuel", a documentary which powerfully weaves the history of race relations in Charleston, South Carolina in the aftermath of the shooting five years ago following a prater meeting at Mother Emanuel Church, will be shown at the North Lake County Library in Polson on Saturday, Feb 8 at 1:00pm. Featuring intimate interviews with survivors and family members, this film is a poignant story of justice and faith, love and hate, examining the healing power of forgiveness. "Views on Views" is a small group of Polson residents committed to sharing films, books and other resources in order to discuss how issues raised in these media apply to our community. Enjoy warm meal at Journey Be
POLSON — Polson Community Church will be serving lunch on Feb. 13 at Journey Be Christian Church, located at 101 Seventh Ave. W, at the SW corner of First St. W. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. and will consist of two homemade soups; one meat and one without, along with salad, homemade rolls, deserts and coffee. The lunch is provided to help feed those less fortunate and in need of a good, warm, home-cooked meal. All are welcome and please know that religion is not spoken of unless you might ask. It is a place for you to come, enjoy a good meal, be warm and enjoy yourselves. There is no charge for anyone.
