RONAN — The Ronan Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary’s next meeting will be on Wednesday, March 13, at 6:30 p.m. at the Ronan VFW Hall.

FINLEY POINT – The Montecahto Club will meet at the Finley Point Grill on Wednesday, March 13, at 1 p.m.

In addition to their regular agenda, club members will be making wine-and-cheese baskets to donate to the Special Olympics fundraising auction. The Montecahto Club welcomes new members. PABLO — The People’s Center will hold traditional arts classes and activities in March. On March 13 from 5:30–8 p.m. there will be a moccasin making class with a fee for the buckskin used. RONAN — Be prepared for lots of fun as the Ronan High School Drama Department presents a performance of the play, “A Lighter Shade of Noir.” General admission tickets only will be sold at the door the evening of the plays. Cost for adults will be $3 and $2 for students. This performance will be presented at the Ronan Performing Arts Center on Thursday and Friday, March 14 and 15, at 7 p.m.

POLSON — The North Lake County Library will be closed on Thursday, March 14, for a staff development day.

POLSON — Join friends and neighbors for a fundraiser to help offset the cost of Mission Valley Animal Shelter’s annual spays and neuters. Enjoy a spaghetti dinner from 5-9 p.m. at the Elks, 512 Main Street, for $20 each. There will also be a silent auction.

LAKESIDE — A benefit for the West Shore Community Library will be held on St. Patrick’s Day, Sunday, March 17. West Shore Community Library is an all volunteer non-profit organization serving the communities of Lakeside, Somers, Rollins and Dayton. The event includes prizes, raffles, partying, dinner and a dance at Beargrass Bistro, (Lakeside Town Center, 306 Stoner Loop), for $75 per person and starts at 6 p.m.

RONAN — The 30th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held in Ronan on March 17 at 2 p.m. Be ready to show your true Irish toughness by participating this year in the rather inclement weather. Entrants should line up at 1:45 p.m. west of the hospital. TRIC (The Ronan Irish Community) appreciates all the past participation and is looking forward to another fun Irish celebration. Headquarters will be located again at the Second Chance Saloon following the parade. Get your Irish on and let’s have some fun.

POLSON — Please join us on Wednesday, March 20, from 7-10 p.m. for the community dance at the Elks on Main Street. Music is by Ken’s Country Combo playing a variety of country and vintage rock and roll. We had an additional accordion and a base player join us last time. KALISPELL — The Flathead Reservation Fish and Wildlife Board will meet on Wednesday, March 20, at the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Region 1 headquarters in Kalispell. POLSON — Lake County Democrats will meet on Wednesday, March 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the Polson library to discuss drug issues and enforcement activities in Lake County. RONAN — The Parents as Teachers Home Visiting Program invites you to attend our group connection at the Ronan Library on Wednesday, March 20, at 11 a.m. Mary Ann Ewert will lead us all in family yoga. POLSON — Karen Dunwell, president of Polson-Flathead Historical Museum, will speak to the Polson Kiwanis Club on Thursday, March 21, downstairs at the KwaTaqNuk at noon. She will talk about the history of the museum, new developments and upcoming events, including a Flathead Monster Fishing Tournament slated for 2020. The public is welcome. The Lewings from the Port Polson Players had to cancel their March 7 presentation due to the weather but will be at the April 4 meeting. We look forward to hearing from them at that time.

ST. IGNATIUS — St. Ignatius School District No. 28 is having their kindergarten registration on Thursday, March 21, from 8:30 a.m.- noon and from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Student must be age 5 by Sept. 10, 2019. Please bring with you: the student, the student’s birth certificate, the student’s immunization record, proof of residency (copy of electric bill), any tribal enrollment information, and any applicable custody papers. Get there early because beginning at 6 p.m. we will show a family-friendly movie (PG or PG-13) about a funny little bear and his friends reuniting with their now adult friend. POLSON — On March 22 at 7 p.m., the Polson Pachyderm Club is sponsoring a talk on climate by Ed Berry, PhD, at the Performing Arts Center, Boys and Girls Club, Ronan, Montana. The public is invited to attend at no cost. Ed is a professional climate physicist with degrees from Caltech, Dartmouth, and Nevada. Dr. Ed will focus on how much human CO2 emissions change atmospheric CO2. All government reports assume human emissions are responsible for all the increase in atmospheric CO2.
