Wayfarers holds scavenger hunt
BIGFORK — Montana State Parks will host the Nature is Neat Spring Scavenger Hunt at Flathead Lake State Park – Wayfarers Unit, 8600 Mt. Hwy 35, Bigfork, on Friday, March 29, from noon- 5 p.m. Help your kids discover how neat nature is by bringing them to Wayfarers to grab a scavenger hunt and explore the park during springtime. There will be two hunts available - one with general objects for younger kids, and one with more specific finds for your older explorers. Choose your scavenger hunt based on your child and how much time you have to explore. Prizes for completed scavenger hunts will be available while supplies last.

Hear the history of the theater on the lake

Accordion Association holds dance
POLSON — The Northwest Accordion Association will hold a community dance on April 7 from 2-5 p.m. at the Elks ballroom in Polson located on Main Street. The music is not just accordion music. The group will visit several ponds in the West Valley area including the new public bird viewing area. Families with children under 5 years old are invited to come and enjoy some sensory play, crafts, and learn about planting seeds and other ways to enjoy and care for the Earth. Snacks will be provided and each family will receive a book about Earth Day. The PAT program is a free, voluntary program that provides twice-monthly home visits with age-appropriate activities for children from birth to age five. We also provide developmental screenings, information and referrals to area resources. Families can be enrolled in the PAT program as soon as mom is pregnant, which many moms-to-be and dads find to be very helpful, since babies don’t come with a manual. RONAN — Ronan cleanup days begin on Wednesday, April 24. Meet at the Ronan High School football field where bags and gloves will be supplied for clean-up from 3:45-6 p.m. Ronan students will be pitching in. There will be a dumpster available from April 24-28 to put any collected trash into.
Do you have a large item or multiple items you need to dispose of but can’t get to the dumpster in town? Do you live within Ronan City Limits? If yes is your answer to both these questions, then we can help. Call Ronan Town Hall at 406-676-4231 to schedule a pick up. Please note, this is to assist with loading item(s) and not a clean-up crew to rake or pick up trash. Our volunteers are happy to help load what you need to get rid of but it must be accessible and ready to go. Please bag small items if possible. Pick up dates are between April 24-28. Lake County Sheriff and Ronan Police Department will be on hand for safety and traffic control.
Make a shawl at the People’s Center
PABLO — On April 24 from 5:30-8 p.m. there will be a shawl-making class (please bring your own materials) at the People’s Center. We have sewing machines for your use and will provide instruction for a fee of $15 per person to cover instructor costs. You will need material, ribbon, thread, appliques, heat and bond and anything else you want to adorn your shawl with. You can purchase rolls of fringe in our gift shop. If you are interested in instructing a class or want a certain class to be offered, call Jordan Stasso at 406- 675-0160.
