RONAN — The community will have an opportunity to hear a legislative update on March 5 at the Boys and Girls Club in Ronan at 7 p.m. Greg Hertz, Dan Salomon and Joe Read will present key updates and answer questions about upcoming bills. This event is a cooperative effort by the Lake County Republican Central Committee, Democratic Central Committee, Mission Valley Rises, Pachyderm and the Northwest Counties Farm Bureau. RONAN — Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will hold their next monthly meeting on March 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the VFW on Round Butte Road. This month’s program will be on Dutch oven cooking presented by Connie Long. Mack and Connie Long live in Charlo and own Bob Marshall Wilderness Outfitters. RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will meet on Tuesday, March 5, at the Terrace Lake Community Church at 6:30 p.m. Prior to the meeting refreshments will be served. POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club will meet on March 7 at noon downstairs at KwaTaq-Nuk Resort. Speakers will be our famous Neil and Karen Lewing from the Port Polson Players. The Lewings will discuss their three-decade plus history of putting on plays in the beautiful theater on Flathead Lake. In particular, they will talk about Port Polson’s contribution to the youth in the area. Many young people have grown up with the program and some of their children (and grandchildren) have also performed. The public is welcome to attend.

POLSON — Mission Valley Live presents Rosie and the Riveters, a fiercely talented group of sassy dames from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, who perform uplifting folk music with a vintage 1940s flair. ST. IGNATIUS — St. Ignatius School District is holding transitional kindergarten registration on Friday, March 8, from 8:15-11:45 a.m. and 1-2:15 p.m. You will need to make an appointment. Students must be 4 years old by Sept. 10, 2019. Please bring with you: the student, student’s birth certificate, student’s immunization record, proof of residency (copy of electric bill), Tribal enrollment information, and any applicable custody papers. RONAN — The Ronan Woman’s Club would like to thank the community for their years of support at their annual arts and crafts fair. ST. IGNATIUS — The Flathead Valley Human Rights Coalition will hold a conversation on human trafficking and self-defense. The focus will be on women and girls but everyone is welcome. RONAN — Be prepared for lots of fun as the Ronan High School Drama Department presents a performance of the play, “A Lighter Shade of Noir.” General admission tickets only will be sold at the door the evening of the plays. Cost for adults will be $3 and $2 for students. This performance will be presented at the Ronan Performing Arts Center on Thursday and Friday, March 14 and 15, at 7 p.m.

POLSON — The North Lake County Library will be closed on Thursday, March 14, for a staff development day.

POLSON — Join friends and neighbors for a fundraiser to help offset the cost of Mission Valley Animal Shelter’s annual spays and neuters. Enjoy a spaghetti dinner from 5-9 p.m. at the Elks, 512 Main Street, for $20 each. There will also be a silent auction.

LAKESIDE — A benefit for the West Shore Community Library will be held on St. Patrick’s Day, Sunday, March 17. West Shore Community Library is an all volunteer non-profit organization serving the communities of Lakeside, Somers, Rollins and Dayton. The event includes prizes, raffles, partying, dinner and a dance at Beargrass Bistro, (Lakeside Town Center, 306 Stoner Loop), for $75 per person and starts at 6 p.m.

RONAN — The 30th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held in Ronan on March 17 at 2 p.m. Be ready to show your true Irish toughness by participating this year in the rather inclement weather. Entrants should line up at 1:45 p.m. west of the hospital. TRIC (The Ronan Irish Community) appreciates all the past participation and is looking forward to another fun Irish celebration. Headquarters will be located again at the Second Chance Saloon following the parade. Get your Irish on and let’s have some fun.
