Canadian musicians entertain at PHS
POLSON — Everything Fitz is a family band featuring the high-energy fiddling and percussive step dancing of four of Canada’s finest young musicians. Big Arm Association hosts potluck, speaker
BIG ARM — The Big Arm Association will host a dessert potluck at the historic Big Arm School on Friday April 28 at 6 p.m. The guest speaker will be Jim Simpson, Chairman of the Lake County Conservation District and retired forester. Jim will discuss the Swan Forest Initiative. This initiative is hoping to transfer management of 60,000 acres of forestlands in the Swan Valley to the State of Montana for 100 years. Salish Kootenai College will be hosting their Annual Spring Powwow and Graduation Honoring on May 12 and 13 with Grand Entries starting at 7 p.m., Friday night and continuing Saturday at 1 and 7 p.m. in the Joe McDonald Health and Fitness Center in Pablo, Montana. An East Valley Pottery tour is planned for Saturday, May 20 from 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 21 from 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The first inaugural East Valley Pottery Tour is a free, self-guided driving tour of some of the Flathead’s most exciting and innovative pottery studios. Each of the studios is nestled along the beautiful East Valley corridor and will take visitors from Bigfork to West Glacier. This free event includes (5) open studio tours, pottery sales, visiting artisans at each location, a poker run with prizes (provided by participating studios) and a post-tour party at Glacier Distilling Company in Coram. POLSON — The Family Fun Mile and Skyline Challenge Run/Walk supports Lake County Relay for Life on Saturday, May 20. ARLEE - Want to enjoy an evening of music, old-fashioned soda fountain drinks, and community interaction? The Arlee High School band and choir, along with the Jr. High, will perform various songs from the ‘60s, along with solos and duets. They have had an exciting year and would love to share their accomplishments with you. We will also be showcasing projects from the Art, Shop and Family Consumer Science classes. Enjoy RHS ‘Spring Fling’ performances, dinner
RONAN — Ronan High School will hold “Spring Fling Back to the Future,” where Doc and Marty guide you through 100 years of music performed by RHS Band, Choir and Drama at the Performing Arts Center on May 22 and May 23 at 7 p.m. These programs are fundraisers for the Performing Arts Programs. Performance tickets cost $5 per person or $20 for a family. The Technology Student Association and Future Health Professionals will host dinner both nights from 5:30-7 p.m. Monday’s dinner will be hamburgers, beans, chips and a drink. Tuesday’s dinner will be chicken kabobs, rice and a drink. The costs for dinner is $6 per person, $20 for a family of four (additional plates are $5.) All funds on dinner sales will be used for travel to competitions at the state and national levels.
