Join ‘Moving for Better Balance’
POLSON — Moving for Better Balance, an evidence-based, adapted Tai Chi class, will be offered by the Area VI Agency on Aging on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-11 a.m. for 12 weeks, May 1-July 19. Classes will be held at the Polson Senior Center. The fee is $35 for senior center members, $50 for non-members (they get a membership included), but everything is on a slidingscale. Learn about hearing health, financial help
RONAN — Did you know that one in three people at the age of 65 have some degree of hearing loss? At 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, at the Ronan Senior Center, Kim Van De Riet from the Hearing Aid Institute and Dara from the Council on Aging will present an education program on hearing health and financial help programs. We will explain all aspects of your hearing. The Council on Aging know finances can be tight. Come and let us explain some of the different programs available that you may not know about.Please bring a canned good and support the Bread Basket. Bring all your questions and your sweet tooth as we will provide answers, pie and coffee.

‘Standing Tall and Proud with our Elders’ activities continue
PABLO — Two Eagle River School will host “Standing Tall and Proud with our Elders” activities from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, in celebration of Elders’ Week. Activities include: dry meat, social time, interview, photo booth, Bingo and other games, fun run/walk at 10 a.m., a forum/elders’ panel at 11 a.m. and an elders/youth Olympics at 1:30 p.m. Elders panel participants will be paid a stipend. POLSON – A free “Night at the Museum,” held the fourth Thursday of every month, is set for May 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Miracle of America Museum, 36094 Memory Lane, Polson. Elders’ Week activities reach final day

Mussel infestation discussed at Pachyderm meeting
POLSON — On Friday, May 25, from noon-1 p.m. Pachyderms will host Tom McDonald, manager of Fish, Wildlife & Recreation and Conservation Department for the Salish & Kootenai Tribe. He will give an update on the efforts to control the mussel infestation in Montana lakes. He will raise awareness on how citizens or volunteers can play a part in protecting Flathead Lake. The group will meet at the Polson Rural Fire Station off Regatta Road.

POLSON — The students in Polson’s Gifted Program’s Advanced Studies classes (grades 6, 7/8, and 9-12) invite you to an evening of displays and presentations. Arlee Farmers’ Market season kicks off
ARLEE —The Arlee Farmers’ Market season will kick off on Wednesday, May 30. The Market, located in the south parking lot of the Hangin' Art Gallery and in front of the Merc on 93, will be open every Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. from May 30 -Sept. 26. The vendors will not be charged a booth fee. Items sold must be hand-baked, hand-crafted, and locally grown. Used items will not be allowed. No smoking is allowed on market premises.
Art Gallery opens new exhibit through June 15
POLSON — Sandpiper Art Gallery, 306 Main Street, Polson, presents until June 15, “Living in the Moment.” This exhibit will be everything we love about Montana and will feature member artists Kathy Calkins (acrylic painter), Marla Hall (photography), Mary K. Lake County Democrats host fundraiser
NORTH CROW – Jenny Eck, Montana House Minority Leader, and Jon Sesso, Montana Senate Minority Leader, will be the featured speakers at the Lake County Democrats annual fundraiser on Thursday, May 31, at the North Crow Clubhouse off of Old Highway 93 in Pablo. A delicious spaghetti dinner will be served for $25 per person. The fundraiser begins at 5:30 p.m. There will also be a live auction.

Papa Bear Runs again
RONAN — The 8th annual Papa Bear Run will be held Saturday, June 2. The ride will begin at S & S Sports store in Ronan going to Plains, Hot Springs, and Somers and ending back at S&S in Ronan. Sign-up and start at 10 a.m. There is a $10 entry fee. Race ends and awards given at 5 p.m. This event benefits Boys and Girls Club of the Flathead Indian Reservation.
