East Valley Pottery Tour
An East Valley Pottery tour is planned for Saturday, May 20 from 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 21 from 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The first inaugural East Valley Pottery Tour is a free, self-guided driving tour of some of the Flathead’s most exciting and innovative pottery studios. Each of the studios is nestled along the beautiful East Valley corridor and will take visitors from Bigfork to West Glacier. This free event includes (5) open studio tours, pottery sales, visiting artisans at each location, a poker run with prizes (provided by participating studios) and a post-tour party at Glacier Distilling Company in Coram. Arlee Music Boosters to host fundraiser
ARLEE - Want to enjoy an evening of music, old-fashioned soda fountain drinks, and community interaction? The Arlee High School band and choir, along with the Jr. High, will perform various songs from the ‘60s, along with solos and duets. They have had an exciting year and would love to share their accomplishments with you. We will also be showcasing projects from the Art, Shop and Family Consumer Science classes. Enjoy RHS ‘Spring Fling’ performances, dinner
RONAN — Ronan High School will hold “Spring Fling Back to the Future,” where Doc and Marty guide you through 100 years of music performed by RHS Band, Choir and Drama at the Performing Arts Center on May 22 and May 23 at 7 p.m. These programs are fundraisers for the Performing Arts Programs. Performance tickets cost $5 per person or $20 for a family. The Technology Student Association and Future Health Professionals will host dinner both nights from 5:30-7 p.m. Monday’s dinner will be hamburgers, beans, chips and a drink. Tuesday’s dinner will be chicken kabobs, rice and a drink. The costs for dinner is $6 per person, $20 for a family of four (additional plates are $5.) All funds on dinner sales will be used for travel to competitions at the state and national levels.

Free Internet Safety Class offered at library
POLSON — North Lake County Public Library will host a free Internet Safety class on Tuesday, May 23, at 2 p.m. in the library meeting room. Library Specialist Heather Miles will present an overview of Internet security and how to stay safe online. Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops or tablets to follow along. Library laptops will also be available for attendees who don’t have a device. Anyone of any age or skill level is invited to attend. Registration is required.

Democrats hold fundraiser, rally for Quist
RONAN — Come to a Lake County Democratic Fundraiser and Rally for Rob Quist on Wednesday, May 24, at 5:30 p.m. This event will be held the night before the Special Election to replace Ryan Zinke. A delicious home cooked spaghetti dinner will be served. The cost is $25 per person. To get to the North Crow Clubhouse, turn off of Highway 93 onto Old Highway 93 and go east on North Crow Road for approximately 2 miles.

POLSON — Spring Is Bustin’ Out All Over and an adult coloring program hosted by North Lake County Public Library will take place in the library meeting room on Wednesday, May 24. Two 90-minute sessions are offered at 2:30 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. Piano instrumental music is on tap for the afternoon session and the Mission Valley Choral Society Small Ensemble will appear for a set of vocal selections in the evening. POLSON — On Thursday, May 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the Miracle of America Museum, a mixed media program titled “Guns, Guns, Guns” will take place. We will begin with a short historic tour and exhibition of firearms dating from the first type up through cartridge guns. There will also be a safety issues presentation, information on buying your first gun, holsters, and ammunition, and information on legal issues. Pioneer Museum opens in Polson
POLSON — The Polson Flathead Historical Museum, “The Pioneer Museum on Main Street” invites you to view amazing exhibits of daily life in the Mission Valley and Flathead Lake area in the late 1800s and early 1900s, such as the stagecoach, chuck wagon, fire trucks, Calamity Jane’s saddle and Flathead Lake’s ‘Nessie” (some say it was, some say it wasn’t, caught here) and much more. We open for the season on Memorial Day each year, and go until Friday, Sept. 15. The museum is located at 708 Main Street and operates Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. (Closed on Sundays) There is a visitor fee of $10 and children under 10 years old are admitted free with a paying adult. Garden of the Rockies Museum opens
RONAN — The Garden of the Rockies Museum, located at 400 Round Butte Road, will open on Thursday, June 1. The museum features the Round Butte Gym, the fire escape from the old Ronan School, Sloan’s Flat Stage Stop, a one-room schoolhouse, an old log home with dovetailed construction, and a tool shed and a farm machinery building. ‘Save Our Sisters’ dresses on display
PABLO — Missing from Our Circle Art Show will take place at The People’s Center on Saturday, June 3, at 6 p.m. Missing from Our Circle is a three dimensional display of the “Save Our Sisters: Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Awareness Project” dresses made by Marita Growing Thunder. The piece depicts the impact that the missing and murdered Indigenous women crisis has had on our communities, lives, and cultures. We will honor their lives, spirits, and journeys as we call for justice for the MMIW crisis. Be a witness to their silent honor dance.
Bigbow artists showcase artwork

Join rock skipping contest
POLSON — The 2017 Flathead Lake Rock Skipping Championship will crown a new record holder on Saturday, June 3, at the Riverside Park Dock in Polson. The event showcases finesse, touch and fun. Bring Your Own Rocks (B.Y.O.R.) to this exciting event and bound on down to Polson for skipping and laughs. Registration begins Saturday, June 3, at 9 a.m. at the Cove Deli and Pizza. Registration costs $10 each or $40 for the whole family. There are two categories per gender: 12 and under, and 13 and up. The contest begins at 10 a.m. and finishes around at 11 a.m. when awards are given and the state record is bestowed. Then it’s up to the Cove Deli and Pizza where all participants receive free pizza.
