Memorial parade on tap
POLSON — The Memorial Day Parade will assemble at the Elks Club on Main Street between 9-9:30 a.m. with step-off time at noon. The parade will go down Main Street and turn to end at First Citizens Bank. Polson Flathead Lake Museum on Main Street will offer free ice cream and a 20 percent discount on admission fees.

Annual potluck, campout to be final accordion jam
POLSON/LONEPINE — There will not be an accordion jam on Sunday, June 2, due to our annual campout and potluck being held on May 31 and June 1, at Lonepine Community Center, off of Highway 28. All are welcome. There is a big blue building on the east side of the highway, turn west and follow to the campgrounds. You will go past a cemetery. The main dinner will be on June 1 at around 4 or 5 p.m. Dancing starts around noon each day. For more information call Ellen at 406-883-3130. We will not be resuming the regular accordion jams at the Elks as the association decided on May 20 to disband. Hope to see you in Lonepine for the final jam.

POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library District’s Friends of the Library are holding a huge used book sale on Friday, May 31, and Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy browsing through hundreds of used books, DVDs and audiobooks, all at bargain prices. Fundraising items include the new Friends of the Library canvas book bags and T-shirts available for $15. Fill a bag with books for only $5. Refreshments will be served. Memorial ride benefits county youth
RONAN — The eighth annual Papa Bear Memorial Motorcycle Poker Ride will take place on June 1, starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. There is a $10 entry fee, which benefits the youth of Lake County. Skateboard clinic for girls held
ST. IGNATIUS — Girls on Shred, a non-competitive free female/non-binary skate clinic takes place on Saturday, June 1, from noon-4 p.m. at the St. Ignatius Skatepark (357 Mission Dr.). This clinic is for all female and non-binary people interested in learning to skateboard. All ages and abilities are welcome. Girls on Shred is a non-competitive event sponsored by Board of Missoula and the Sports Exchange. There will be a free clinic, live music, and a raffle. Awards given out at Kiwanis Club meeting
POLSON — Polson Kiwanis Club will meet on Thursday, June 6, at noon, downstairs in the Koostatah Room at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. Robbie Hayes will speak on behalf of Special Olympics and receive an award from Kiwanis. Kiwanis will also present an award to Helping Hands and Tillie Marshall will tell about the progress on its projects, including the successful “Baby Boxes” given to new mothers in local Lake County hospitals. These boxes have been instrumental in lowering infant mortality rates. Shea McGuinness will receive a Polson Key Club scholarship. Kiwanis Club will also be organizing committees for its upcoming fundraiser, the second annual Wine and Beer Festival, to take place on Friday, June 21, at the KOA campground. The public is welcome to attend.
