Lake County vendors invited to Bigfork through Oct. 9

BIGFORK — The Bigfork Farmers’ Market Cooperative will take place each Wednesday until October 9. The market takes place between 3-6 p.m. on the lawn at The Bigfork VFW, 8098 Highway 35. Ronan Farmers Market through September 26

RONAN — The 2019 Ronan Farmers Market will open on Thursday, May 16, at the Ronan Visitors’ Center. Shop local at Polson's farmers market through Sept. 

POLSON — Starting on Friday, May 3, Polson Farmers Market will be open from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. every Friday, rain or shine. The market is located at Third Ave. W. and will have homegrown produce and plants, coffee, jewelry, soaps, popsicles, baked goods, meats, eggs, cheese, preserved foods, fabric, photographic and handmade art, beauty products, wood working and much, much more. Class offers help for caregivers through June 7

Library begins monthly movie night

POLSON — Enjoy “Friday Night at the Library” on the fourth Friday of each month. North Lake County Library will show movies rated PG or PG-13 ( posted on our website) and make fresh popcorn. This program debuts Friday, Jan. 25. Be in the library before 6 p.m. to be included. Feel free to bring your own nonalcoholic beverage and snacks.

Move for better balance

RONAN — Tai Ji Quan is a moving-for-better-balance class and will be offered by a certified instructor at the MSU Lake County Extension on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30-2:30 p.m. beginning May 13. This is an alternative exercise training program for improving balance and preventing falls. There is no cost. Please wear good shoes and clothes you can move in and bring water. Move for better balance through June

POLSON — The spring session of “Moving for Better Balance,” an adapted Tai Chi program, will begin on Tuesday, April 9. MSU alumni play golf

MSU alumni play golf POLSON — Polson Bay Golf Club will host the MSU golf scramble on July 27. The format will be similar to last year’s event. The scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. followed by a social hour and barbecue. The entry fee is $500 per team. All proceeds benefit the MSU Bobcat Athletic Scholarship Fund. Annual potluck, campout to be final accordion jam

POLSON/LONEPINE — There will not be an accordion jam on Sunday, June 2, due to our annual campout and potluck being held on May 31 and June 1, at Lonepine Community Center, off of Highway 28. All are welcome. There is a big blue building on the east side of the highway, turn west and follow to the campgrounds. You will go past a cemetery. The main dinner will be on June 1 at around 4 or 5 p.m. Dancing starts around noon each day. For more information call Ellen at 406-883-3130. We will not be resuming the regular accordion jams at the Elks as the association decided on May 20 to disband. Hope to see you in Lonepine for the final jam.

Fundraising items include the new Friends of the Library canvas book bags and T-shirts available for $15. Fill a bag with books for only $5. Refreshments will be served. Skateboard clinic for girls held

ST. IGNATIUS — Girls on Shred, a non-competitive free female/non-binary skate clinic takes place on Saturday, June 1, from noon-4 p.m. at the St. Ignatius Skatepark (357 Mission Dr.). This clinic is for all female and non-binary people interested in learning to skateboard. All ages and abilities are welcome. Girls on Shred is a non-competitive event sponsored by Board of Missoula and the Sports Exchange. There will be a free clinic, live music, and a raffle. POLSON — Polson Kiwanis Club will meet on Thursday, June 6, at noon, downstairs in the Koostatah Room at the KwaTaqNuk Resort. Robbie Hayes will speak on behalf of Special Olympics and receive an award from Kiwanis. Kiwanis will also present an award to Helping Hands and Tillie Marshall will tell about the progress on its projects, including the successful “Baby Boxes” given to new mothers in local Lake County hospitals. These boxes have been instrumental in lowering infant mortality rates. Shea McGuinness will receive a Polson Key Club scholarship. Kiwanis Club will also be organizing committees for its upcoming fundraiser, the second annual Wine and Beer Festival, to take place on Friday, June 21, at the KOA campground. The public is welcome to attend.
