Join ‘Moving for Better Balance’
POLSON — Moving for Better Balance, an evidence-based, adapted Tai Chi class, will be offered by the Area VI Agency on Aging on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-11 a.m. for 12 weeks, May 1-July 19. Classes will be held at the Polson Senior Center. The fee is $35 for senior center members, $50 for non-members (they get a membership included), but everything is on a slidingscale. New exhibit begins at Sandpiper Gallery through May 11
POLSON — The exhibit, “It’s All About The Timing” will be shown at the Sandpiper Gallery, 306 Main Street, from April 9-May 11. This exhibit features member artists Nathan Eyre (wood); Patrick Berry (acrylic) ; Barb Shrider (watercolor) ; Willie DeJana (mixed media); and guest artists Kristy Humble (found art); Kody Bundy (scratchboard).
Democrats, Republican women co-host forum
PABLO — Lake County Democrats and Republican women will co-host a non-partisan judicial candidate forum for the position of District Judge. Candidates participating will be Deborah “Kim” Christopher, Ashley Morigeau and Ben Anciaux. The forum will be held May 8 in the Johnny Arlee/Victor Charlo Performing Arts Center. Social hour begins at 6:30 p.m. with the forum following at 7 p.m. and ending at 8:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The forum will take the place of the regular Lake County Republican Women’s meeting.

Polson Chamber holds ‘Meet and Greet’ event
POLSON — The Polson Chamber of Commerce will host a candidate “Meet and Greet” event on Wednesday, May 9, at the North Lake County Library from 6-8 p.m. Candidates vying for Lake County Sheriff and District 20 District Court Judge, along with democratic candidates for House District 93 will be on hand. Each candidate will explain why they are the best candidate in their race. Candidates will be available for questions afterwards. Refreshments will be served.
Rural Fire holds monthly meeting

Performance dates changed
POLSON — Due to some unforeseen circumstances, the Polson High Theatre Production Club’s performance of “Reality Stars: Greek Gods Edition” have been rescheduled to Thursday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m. and on Friday, May 11, at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for students and $7 for adults. The Spanish Club will serve a spaghetti dinner prior to the play each evening from 5-6:30 p.m. for $5 per person or $20 for a family.
Ronan Roundup returns
RONAN — Each month, the Ronan Chamber works with a business to help promote them. This provides locals and visitors the chance to meet the business, the people who work there and the impact it has upon the community. Free gifts given during May’s Parents as Teachers meeting
POLSON – Free gifts. Who doesn’t want a little present? The Lake County Parents as Teachers May Community Connection is all about gifts – for a mom or another special someone in your life, and for you, just for attending. It is happening at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 11 at the Lake County Health Department, 801 Main Street in Polson. We have a couple of craft ideas for the young ones to create, either “all by myself ” or with your help, and a yummy no-sugar, no-bake treat that we are going to put together with everyone’s help. Pregnant moms and families with children under the age of five are welcome to attend the Parents as Teachers Community Connections. This is a good chance to meet other families with young children, and to learn more about the Parents as Teachers Home Visiting program. We’ll have a drawing for a door prize, and if you bring a friend, you are guaranteed a gift as well. Graduate Honoring held at SKC
PABLO — Salish Kootenai College will host their Annual Spring Powwow and Graduate Honoring on May 11 and 12, with Grand Entries starting at 7 p.m., Friday night and continuing Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Joe McDonald Health and Fitness Center. Paint rocks for Polson Painted Rock Project

Fundraiser planned for Carlos Rodriques
POLSON – A fundraiser to benefit Polson community member Carlos Rodriques will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Polson Elks Club on Main Street. Carlos became suddenly ill and has been hospitalized since early March with an autoimmune affliction that has compromised his nervous system, leaving him paralyzed. In addition to the fundraiser at the Elks Club, two other online fundraisers through GoFundMe and CaringBridge have been set up to help pay for his medical costs. For more information call 676-0170.

RONAN — The Mission Mountain Chapter Grizzly Scholarship Association will hold their “Golf for the Griz Memorial Tournament” with an 11 a.m. shotgun start on May 18 at the Mission Mountain Golf Course. Golf fees, dinner and prizes are $80 per person for non-pass holders and $70 per person for pass holders. These prices do not include carts. Dinner served at 4 p.m. is $25 for dinner only. Even if you don’t golf, come socialize with coaches, athletic department representatives and fellow Griz fans. Cherry Blossom Festival celebrated
YELLOW BAY – The 15th annual Yellow Bay Cherry Blossom Festival will be held on from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 at the Yellow Bay Community Clubhouse. The clubhouse is located on Montana Hwy. 35 at mile marker 18. The festival is free and open to the public. This year’s event includes artisans and crafters offering an array of locally produced and hand-crafted items. Live music, free door prizes and lunch items for a nominal fee are also planned. The festival is a major fundraiser for the Yellow Bay Community Club. Proceeds help fund various charitable projects selected by the club, as well as maintenance of the 75-year-old clubhouse, home to potlucks, receptions, private celebrations, and cherry growers’ meetings.
