Country Jam, dances cancelled

POLSON — Our Classic Country Jammin’ scheduled for April 5, at the Elks Ballroom in Polson is cancelled until further notice. Wednesday night dances at the Elks’ ballroom in Polson are also cancelled until further notice. We pray that everyone is staying home and being safe. We do have to go out for essentials and that is okay. Lake City Bakery, McDonalds and Burgerville are open in Polson for take outs. We are all in this together and need to help each other wherever we can, physically or financially. Please encourage one another and we will all get through this. Don’t be prideful and not ask for help, if you really need it. This hardship we are going through may take a little time but if we all work together and for each other, it will pass. We hope to see you all again very soon.

Horsemen stay home for April

RONAN — Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will not be holding their next monthly meeting in April due to the Covid-19 and CDC guidelines for social distancing and gatherings. Stay at home unless absolutely necessary and be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Stay safe.

Library begins monthly movie night

POLSON — Enjoy “Friday Night at the Library” on the fourth Friday of each month. North Lake County Library will show movies rated PG or PG-13 ( posted on our website) and make fresh popcorn. This program debuts Friday, Jan. 25. Be in the library before 6 p.m. to be included. Feel free to bring your own nonalcoholic beverage and snacks.

Spring Mack Days event postponed News from CSKT

FLATHEAD LAKE — Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Spring Mack Days event has been postponed until further notice. This decision was made by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Council in support of Governor Steve Bullock’s stay-at-home order. The governor’s order went into effect on Saturday, March 28. The CSKT Tribal Fisheries Program and CSKT’s Tribal Council will evaluate the situation by April 10 when the governor could lift the order. Anglers who have signed up for the program are asked to check their emails frequently. For further information and updates, please visit the Mack Days website at

Celebrate Recovery ministers to anyone

POLSON — Celebrate Recovery Ministry takes place at Polson Foursquare on Sundays between 5-8 p.m.

All are welcome to join us each Sunday evening. CR is a Christ-centered 12-step recovery ministry for anyone with hurts, habits or hang-ups. Discussion forum meets last Thursday of month

POLSON — Join our ongoing “last Thursday of the month” meetings held from 4-5 p.m. (or beyond) at The Good Coffee Roasting Company, 201 Third Ave., right behind Stutzman’s Furniture on U.S. Highway 93. “Polson Gather Round - Walk With the World” is a community discussion forum, where we discuss what is on our minds. We also discuss possible solutions, and specifically how they are related to climate change solutions. Thinking must be elevated past the political parties, and solutions should be fostered by community collaboration, as it relates specifically to the climate topic.  Montecahto Club invites new members

 POLSON — The Montecahto Club meets the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. We are a social and service organization and sponsor a scholarship for a graduating senior, cook and serve lunch at “Soup’s On,” collect for the Food Bank, send Care packages to the overseas troops and help out wherever we can. Recovery support available

RONAN —Recovery support is available for those struggling with addiction at The Never Alone Recovery Hall (Hwy. 93, old Boys and Girls Club), every day of the week. The Never Alone Recovery Hall is a peer support dropin center. We are simply recovering people offering our experience, strength, and hope to our community members who are struggling with addiction issues. All groups and services are free. Please feel welcome to drop in and check us out.

On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays a noon meditation group is held and from 1-5 p.m. individual peer support is available.

Mondays a women’s support group takes place from 6-8 p.m.

Tuesdays there are recovery stories and videos heard from 6-8 p.m.

Wednesdays Narcotics Anonymous meets from 6-8 p.m.

Thursdays an early recovery skills groups meets from 6-8 p.m.

Fridays from 8-9 p.m. The Red Road to Recovery group meets.

Saturdays a co-dependent support group meets at 5 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m. special events take place (events change).

Family movie night happens from 6-8 p.m. on Sundays.

New art exhibit begins at Sandpiper Gallery

POLSON — The Sandpiper Art and Gift Gallery, 306 Main Street, begins their new exhibit, “Where does the Story Begin?” The show runs from July 30-Aug. 31 and features member artists Carole Carberry (watercolor), Maryann Eikens (sculpture/watercolor), Gitti Miller (basket weaving) Jan Brooks (wearable art), Jan Lindgren (watercolor), Julie Christopher (everything and anything), and guest artist John Ashley (photography). Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday.

Boys and Girls Club summer program June 11 through August 17

LAKE COUNTY — The Flathead Reservation and Lake County Boys and Girls Club will operate a summer program at both their Polson and Ronan sites Monday-Friday (not July 4) from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. from June 11-Aug. 17. ‘Souvenir’ wraps up PPP summer season

POLSON — Wrapping up Port Polson Players’ summer season is “Souvenir.” Missoula favorite Alicia Bullock Muth returns to the Polson stage in this musical retelling of the true story of Florence Foster Jenkins, an American socialite who was noted as the world’s worst opera singer. All summer theatre shows are presented at Polson’s beautiful theatre on the lake on the Polson golf course – U.S. Hwy. 93, Boettcher Park. This production plays from Aug. 16-26. SKC Golf Scramble supports Foundation


PABLO — The 27th annual SKC Foundation Golf Scramble takes place on Friday, Aug. 17, at Silver Fox Golf Course, 58138 Highway 93. The 18 hole scramble has four separate sessions. People’s Center hosts annual Social Powwow

POLSON — The North Lake County Public Library will hold “Adulting 101’s” third and final session on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 1 p.m. in the library meeting room. This session will cover the basics of finance and we will talk about travel. We invite your questions. This fun, interactive program is for teens and preteens and is intended to help prepare the future of our nation to go out into the world (mostly) ready to survive as a new adult. Shine up dancing boots for barn dance


BIG ARM — The Big Arm Association will host our 12th annual Barn Dance on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 5:30-9 p.m. at our historic Big Arm School. We will serve hamburgers/ cheeseburgers with grilled onions if you desire. We will also provide picnic fixings: coleslaw, baked beans, and potato chips. Everyone loves the delicious huckleberry ice cream from The Cove that we will serve for dessert. The BAA does not charge for the meal, however donations will be gladly accepted and appreciated.
