Harm reduction saves lives

Horsemen to elect officers

RONAN — Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will have their next monthly meeting on Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ronan VFW on Round Butte Rd. We will elect officers for 2020 and discussing our December Christmas party. Hope to see you there.

Hot Springs’ Organic Market offers nutritious food

HOT SPRINGS — Camas Organic Market is open Monday – Saturday from 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. at 300 Main St in Hot Springs. Customers will be able to earn the Double SNAP Dollars coupons on every Tuesday and Thursday starting on July 2.

Library begins monthly movie night

POLSON — Enjoy “Friday Night at the Library” on the fourth Friday of each month. North Lake County Library will show movies rated PG or PG-13 ( posted on our website) and make fresh popcorn. This program debuts Friday, Jan. 25. Be in the library before 6 p.m. to be included. Feel free to bring your own nonalcoholic beverage and snacks.

PHS choral group to perform in Big Arm

BIG ARM — The Big Arm Association will host the Polson High School choral group at our annual Christmas program on Friday, Dec. 13, at the Big Arm Historic School House. Their performance will begin at 5:30 p.m. A snack/dessert time will begin at 5 p.m. so please bring a finger food or dessert to share and if possible, an unwrapped toy for the Marine Toys For Tots drive. Recovery support available

RONAN —Recovery support is available for those struggling with addiction at The Never Alone Recovery Hall (Hwy. 93, old Boys and Girls Club), every day of the week. The Never Alone Recovery Hall is a peer support dropin center. We are simply recovering people offering our experience, strength, and hope to our community members who are struggling with addiction issues. All groups and services are free. Please feel welcome to drop in and check us out.

On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays a noon meditation group is held and from 1-5 p.m. individual peer support is available.

Mondays a women’s support group takes place from 6-8 p.m.

Tuesdays there are recovery stories and videos heard from 6-8 p.m.

Wednesdays Narcotics Anonymous meets from 6-8 p.m.

Thursdays an early recovery skills groups meets from 6-8 p.m.

Fridays from 8-9 p.m. The Red Road to Recovery group meets.

Saturdays a co-dependent support group meets at 5 p.m. and at 6:30 p.m. special events take place (events change).

Family movie night happens from 6-8 p.m. on Sundays.

Rotary meets Tuesdays

POLSON — The Polson Rotary’s regular meeting are on Tuesdays at 12:15 p.m. at the KwaTaqNuk.

Summer program at Boys and Girls Club begins

LAKE COUNTY — The Flathead Reservation and Lake County Boys and Girls Club in Ronan will operate a summer program Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. from June 10-Aug. 16 (closed July 4). The cost is $20 per week or $150 for the full summer. The summer session is 10 weeks of fun – opportunities for discovery, learning, and activities galore. Applications may be picked up onsite or at: www.flatheadbgc.org.

Move for better balance

RONAN — Tai Ji Quan is a moving-for-better-balance class and will be offered by a certified instructor at the MSU Lake County Extension on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30-2:30 p.m. beginning May 13. This is an alternative exercise training program for improving balance and preventing falls. There is no cost. Please wear good shoes and clothes you can move in and bring water. Watch ‘Earthwise’ documentary

8/15/2019

POLSON — On Thursday, Aug. 15, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. the North Lake County Public Library will show “Earthrise.” This 30-minute documentary short from 2018 that tells the story of the first image captured of the Earth from space in 1968.  The “Earthrise” website is: www.earthrisefilm.com. Thanks go to Go Project Films for allowing us to screen this documentary free of charge. This film is unrated by the MPAA. This screening will be followed by fun moon-related crafts and activities appropriate for school-aged children.
