RONAN — The Lake County Fair begins on Monday, July 28 and ends Sunday, Aug. 3. Fairgrounds are located right off Highway 93, north end Ronan. There will be 4-H and open class fair exhibits, food booths and kid’s games and activities all week. The fair offers spectator interaction with livestock shows, entertainment, youth activities and project judging. PABLO — “Making Fitness Fun” is a free program for children ages 7 and older. Activities run Monday to Thursday, June 9 to Aug. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Joe McDonald Fitness Center on SKC campus. Sign ups can be done at any time throughout the summer at the Fitness Center. Organizers plan to provide free supervision to children while they participate in organized activities like swimming, hiking trips, kickball, football, baseball, basketball, dodge ball, Native games, volleyball, soccer, shinny, bike riding, nutritional education and more.

Free transportation to Ronan and Polson Boys and Girls Clubs will be offered at noon. A free nutritional breakfast and lunch is also offered at the Fitness Center, Monday-Thursday with breakfast served from 8:30-10 a.m. and lunch served from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Meals are for any age child up to 18 years old.

POLSON — PHS class of 1964 is holding their 50th class reunion Aug. 1, 2, and 3. RONAN —Ronan Pioneer Days is a community event with fun for the whole family. The Mission Mountain Classic Run, 3-on-3-basketball and volleyball tournaments are some of the athletic events planned. POLSON — The Summer Food Service Program will be held at the Cherry Valley Elementary School, 107 Eighth Ave. W from June 16-Aug. 8. This program provides free breakfast and lunch for all children age 18 and under, and will be served Monday through Friday. RONAN — From June 9-Aug. 15, all children 18 years of age and under will be served breakfast and lunch at no cost to their families. Meals will be served at the Ronan Middle School Commons from 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. for breakfast and from 11:30 a.m.-12:55 p.m. for lunch. RSD No. 30 is considered an “open site” and may feed at no cost any and all children who wish to participate. Children are not required to live in the district.

All adults must pay cash for meals at the time of service at a rate of $4 for lunch and $2.50 for breakfast.

POLSON — The Polson Chamber’s sixth annual Smokin’ on the Water and the Brew Tour, take place at the KwaTaqNuk Resort on Aug. 2.

The one-day event combines freshly smoked barbecue with the sounds of live music and the opportunity to taste local brews. The barbecue is from 11 a.m.—6 p.m. and the local brew tour will go from 11 a.m.—8 p.m. Live music will play on the lawn all day with Smash Hit Carnival taking the stage at 7:30 p.m. This year, 10 of the dragon boats teams will paddle to Polson Bay as they prepare for the Montana Dragon Boat Festival on Sept. 13 and 14, in Bigfork.

RONAN — The Lake County Fair will hold the judging for the Boys’ and Girls’ Club “Smoke Off” from 5-7 p.m. This is a meat-smoking contest and should be lots of fun. This is a family-friendly event and free of charge.

CHARLO – The Mission Valley has been blessed to have a large number of diverse artists living and creating works here in the valley. Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana is pleased to use the gift shop as a venue to promote local artists during “First Saturday” throughout the summer months, June through September.

RONAN — EAA chapter 1122 will fly Young Eagles at the Polson airport on Saturday, Aug. 2, starting at 9 a.m. These free flights are offered to young people, ages 8-17, and made possible by EAA member volunteers. POLSON — Join Mission Valley Aquatics on Saturday, Aug. 2, for the 12th annual Polson Bay’s Water Daze one-mile swim race from Salish Point to Boettcher Park. Proceeds from this year’s event will support our Lake Monsters Swim Team.

Registration opens at 11 a.m. at Boettcher Park. Swimmers are bussed to the KwaTaqNuk at 12:30 p.m. Race starts at 1 p.m.

A free kids’ swim race will also take place. Awards will be given.
