On Wednesday, Aug. 27, I had the good fortune of attending the Kicking Horse Job Corps Center’s Open House. I was very impressed with the campus, the courses and trades instruction that is offered, and the enthusiasm and outright happiness the students showed, clearly proud of their accomplishments, and looking forward to their future careers. I knew that KHJC drew students from across the county, but had no idea that it is available to local young people, providing free housing, food and instruction to youth ages 16 through 24. What an incredible resource we have right here in the Mission Valley.
Kudos to those who participated in the Open House – it was professional, fascinating and fun. I would encourage anyone to check it out the next time they open their doors to the public. You can get more information from Marie Bigby at (406) 644-2217, ext. 6302.
