COLUMBIA FALLS – The Pirates are on their way to the big show after placing second as a team at the Northwestern A Divisional Tournament. With a team score of 376, three Pirates posted scores good enough to place in the top ten.

Freshman Carson McDaniel shined for Polson after shooting an 82 to finish in third overall. Right behind him were Reno Lindesmith, in eighth with a score of 93, and nipping at Lindesmith’s heels was Noah McDonald in ninth with a 94.

After dominating State play and placing first the last three years, the Lady Pirates will not compete as a team at State after not qualifying enough golfers to roster a team at the Divisional Tournament, though three Lady Pirates will compete as individuals in Hamilton next week at the State tourney.

Heather Franck tops that list after taking third with a score of 98. Senior Payton Anderson shot a 109 for an eighth place finish and Kiyara McCue just missed the top ten but will still compete at State with a score of 121 to put her in 11th for the tournament.

The Pirates team and the three qualifying Lady Pirates will head to Hamilton for State links action Oct. 3-4.
