Editor,

When is a legally deeded right-of-way not a right-of-way? When is a legally granted and adjudicated water right not a water right? In District Judge Jim Manley’s court is where.

Seems like there are a lot of “Retain Manley” signs around and his radio ads tout the number of cases that he has cleared off his docket, unfortunately they say nothing about his judicial demeanor and refusal to delve into merits of a case.

If you have money or an unethical attorney, you have it made in Judge Manley’s court. If you’re an ordinary Joe citizen forget it, because judicial expediency is what rules in Manley’s Court. The “Law” is supposed to be about determining justice not about the easiest way to dispose of a judge’s calendar. The Citizens of Lake and Sanders Counties should think twice about retaining Judge Manley in his stint at the public trough.
