COLUMBIA FALLS – In order to receive an All-Conference title in Northwestern A cross-country, you must place top 10 at the Conference meet. Four Lady Pirates and one Pirate did just that, beating out upperclassman in Columbia Falls at the West Glacier Golf Course Saturday.

Not only have the Polson racers proved they have what it takes to compete in varsity postseason runs, they make spectators forget they are young with the oldest of the four topping the age charts as a sophomore.

The Lady Pirates led Polson taking second overall with a team score of 40. Freshman Ryan Harrop pushed hard in the 3 mile run, placing fourth overall with a finish time of 20:31. Coming in right behind were teammates Malia Seeley, grabbing sixth with a time of 20:45, Izabella Seeman finishing seventh logging a time of 20:50 and rounding out the top ten, Quinn Motichka finished tenth for the Lady Pirates with a time of 21:28.

Anna Young and Sierra Garcia found a top 20 finish with Young (22:01) placing 13th and Garcia (23:32) in at 19th.

For the boys, freshman Zach Evertz, who’s been consistent all season, fared the best finishing with a time of 17:50, good for seventh place and an All-Conference title.

Just missing the top ten was Warren Wood crossing in 11th with a time of 18:01 and Matt Sitter finished in 18th pacing a time of 18:42.

The Pirates and Lady Pirates will trek the 3 mile State run in Helena Nov. 1.
