CHARLO – The community packed Charlo gymnasium Thursday night to see who has the most talent in the school. Elementary and high school students competed in a giggle-inducing, toe-tapping competition that left few exiting the annual talent show without an ear-to-ear smile on their face.

“We do this every year,” Superintendent Thom Peck said. “It’s great. It’s fun.”

The lineup this year included a wide variety of skills. The cheerleading squad did a dance in a group, while young Megan Evelo braved the stage alone to show the crowd her mad moves. Evelo ended up taking second place in the elementary school competition. Colt Hovet took home first place in the category by impressing the judges with a martial arts demonstration full of lightning fast, precise punches and kicks set to “Everybody was Kung-Fu Fighting.”

Singers dominated the high school division, with Madison Savage and Kyla Kirsch belting out “Best Mistake” to take home the top prize. Victory is familiar for the duo. They took home first place last year, also.

Runner-up in the high school division was Hailey Whiting-Yeo, who pleased the crowd with her sweet rendition of “Little Things.”
