FLORENCE – In their first week of regular season play, the Chiefs come out big, tackling a pair of victories including a conference victory to start their season out on the right side of the law.
Friday in Florence the Chiefs started their week hoops fury with a District 6-B 58-50 win over the Falcons.
Cedric Earthboy led the attack scoring 15 while Jeremiah North Piegan tossed in an additional 14.
At home on Saturday a nail-biting performance with jaw-dropping heroics in the final seconds sealed the deal for the Chiefs as they snatched up the 58-56 win from Eureka.
Earthboy high-scored for the Chiefs netting 21 big ones, but it was the well-placed, last-second moves by North Piegan with a two pointer to break the 56-56 tie and secure the win that deserved the high five of the night. North Piegan also chipped in 10 for the game.
The Chiefs hope to continue their thunder after the break with a game in Polson Jan. 3.
