RONAN — Michael McCrae, 4, spun anxiously as rain drops pittered around him on First Avenue in Ronan. Souls decked out in green-clad glasses, hair, sunglasses, dresses, hats, and clown gear were making their way behind St. Luke Community Hospital for lineup in one of Ronan’s long-standing traditions: the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
McCrae was feeling a little bit under the weather, but was excited to see his grandfather march with the honor guard and grab some candy.
“I can’t eat much,” he said. “I’m too little.”
Candy and shenanigans abounded, as leaping leprechauns Landar Fangsrud and Denis St. Germaine led the procession that included green painted eyeglasses, face paint, a mischievous clown, and plenty of umbrella and rain-coat wearing spectators.
