Editor,

Contract: A binding agreement between two or more parties; a writing made by the parties to evidence the terms and conditions of a contract; to bring one’s self an obligation.

To the membership: if Contract Care continues to stay in place one more day and you or you’re loved one is still being denied care, don’t be afraid to speak up for your rights. I am related to three of the Council members; that won’t stop me from standing up to injustice.

It is a myth that “it takes a silver bullet to bring down the wolf.”

I will not hesitate to file a lawsuit in Missoula County. I have over-turned denials; Contract Care was in the wrong. And I have had repeated violating issues with the Tribal Health Services in Polson and the one in St. Ignatius forced upon me by people who don’t know the Contracts Responsibility, also known as IHS.

Contract Health Service Availability And Responsibility, page 8, paragraph 3: Direct Health Services are provided to persons eligible to access medical providers employed at the Tribal Health Clinic.

Recently I had been denied care twice upon trying to get a blood draw and for coming in very sick, seeking help from the primary physician; I was told that they can’t see me, because I had never been there. Some of my meds are filled there and I receive dental services at the clinic; that makes me eligible — it is written on page 8. And, I have been denied to choose a doctor from the private sector, when the service states that I may do so, again page 8.

This is my notice to Acting Director Kevin Howlett and to the Tribal Council: I will see you in court for repeated violations by Contract Care and the Tribal Health Service.
