Editor,
The congregation of the Mission Valley United Methodist Church, top of Post Creek Hill, would like to thank the Salish Kootenai College’s Highway Construction Training Program for the recent leveling and topsoil hauling they did at our church. We will now be able to use that area for softball, soccer and our labyrinth.
The purpose of this project was to provide an area for families to get together for softball games and to have an area for others to play here as well. The labyrinth will be open to anyone who wants to walk, pray and meditate.
Dennis Talbott, Jr., the HCT department supervisor, was very professional in his assessment of the area involved. He implemented the plan he thought would work the best.
Ry McNair, the trainer/equipment operator and instructor, did a great job teaching his students the proper way to use the equipment to get the desired results.
The area looks beautiful we are proud to know there is a program in the valley that helps young people learn useful skills so they can find jobs.
Hats off and a big thanks to the Salish Kootenai College, Dennis Talbott, Jr., Ry McNair, and the students from the HCT program for a job well done. God bless.
