News from Polson 12U All Star Baseball Team

MERIDIAN, IDAHO – The Polson 12U All Star baseball team made it to the semifinals in the PNW Regional Tournament, the furthest any 12U team in the state of Montana has ever made it in the Cal Ripkin League.

This young team's tough defense made them a force to be reckoned with all season long including winning the State Championship and to the semifinals at the regional tournament in Meridian, Idaho.

The regional tournament game scores for Polson were West Linn, Oregon (4-3 loss), East Boise, Idaho (5-0 win), North Side, Idaho (7-6 win), Meridian, Idaho (6-3 win), and the semifinal game against Whatcom Americans, Washington (12-0 loss).

These 12 young men were only one game away from the Cal Ripkin World Series in Monticello, Arkansas, and represented Polson and the Mission Valley well.

The team is quick to point out they couldn't have gotten as far as they did this All Star season without the community support thanks to the incredible number of generous donors who stepped up to the plate before State and the day before Regionals.

Considering they are from a small town and have only been playing together seven weeks against big city teams who play together year round, these boys from Polson and their dedicated coaches and families had a very successful season they should be proud of. A tournament commissioner even walked out to the post game huddle after Polson's last game and told the boys they represented their town and community well. He went on to tell the team that the other teams before Regionals wanted to know where Polson was — but now everyone will know where Polson, Montana is. Polson is a small town with a big name, big heart and big small town support.
