Editor,

To Ronan City Parks friends and supporters, it is with great disappointment that I have learned of the dissolution of the Ronan City Parks Board. As current secretary, having been a part of said board for six years and involved in the creation of the Park Master Plan along with many of the dreams for development of the park, I am hopeful that all the work wasn’t for naught.

Thank you to those of you who have so generously contributed monetarily and as tireless “worker bees” for our pathway project. I am confident the new Council Committee will see that the accumulated funds will be spent on the project they were meant for. I realize there are a few loose ends that need to be clarified, and we as a board will try to communicate these issues with City Council.

The park is a huge asset for the City of Ronan and as a dedication gift to me for my retirement from the City of Ronan, it is extremely important to me that it be respected and protected by the people who are responsible for its care.

Thank you, Parks Board and friends for all your participation in the enhancements and care of our city parks.

Carlene Bockman
Ronan
