My name is Tim J. Jeffries, descendant of Agnes Cecile Charlo Vanderburg and mother, Virginia McDougal, and I am running as a tribal council candidate from the St. Ignatius district. There are many concerns that we as tribal people have. Our tribal government is there to hear and act on these issues — some of them being more assistance for the elders, term limits, a drug center, and referendums for large proposed expenditures.
It has been said that I am only in it for the money but that is farthest from the truth. If elected, my promise to you is that in the last year of my term, I will donate half of my salary to be used for the elders. Should another council member choose to join me, I will do this for the last two years of my term.
As I have stated before, “my voice will be your voice.” I will be knocking on your doors to truly listen and bring your concerns to the council if elected.
Lastly, be sure to vote as each vote counts. Vote for those whom you think will represent you the best.
