As the news highlights the various tragedies around the world, I’ve been reflecting on my world. For many Lake County residents, it has been a hard year fighting a drought.
But look around us. We are so lucky to live in the best place in the world with towering white mountain peaks greeting us each day. Our valley has many opportunities and treasures yet uncovered. This past week there were four concerts including the Mission Valley High School band concert with schools from both Sanders and Lake counties participating, and the Mission Valley Children’s choral concert. We were fortunate to attend the Head Start Powwow with hundreds of little toe dancers enjoying their new moccasins as they danced.
Whether it’s a turkey dinner, art auction or pie social, our valley rallies around the cause.
As we approach the holidays, let’s remember our neighbors and friends and continue to support each other into the New Year.
