WHITEFISH — Polson will enter 15 wrestlers in the Divisional Tournament at Whitefish High School Gym on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 5-6.
The new format will combine the Southwest Class A schools with the Northwest Class A schools for a nine-team tournament. The top eight placers in each weight group will advance to the State Wrestling Tournament in Billings the following week.
Competition will start with one round on Friday evening at 4 p.m. Wrestling will resume on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. The championship finals are slated for around 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Polson’s R.J. Pierre remains ranked number one in the state power poll in the 103-pound weight class. He will be the top seeded wrestler in his weight. Eight other Polson wrestlers have a good chance at top three seeds for the Divisional.
