Editor,

The viewer’s meeting of Thursday night’s Republican debate, held in my living room, was billed as an “AA on MS” — Alphabetical Analysis on Magnificent Seven.

Here’s the report:

—Jeb Bush: Best performance of his less-than-outstanding career. Looked almost presidential, and of the seven is probably the best one to take on Clinton because regardless of “the establishment” rejection, America will surely retain strong establishment identity.

—Ben Carson: He showed up, chuckled a bit, made quiet sense, went back to sleep.

—Chris Christy: Ole “BB on BS” (Bridgegate Bully on Big Stage) was his usual silver-tongued self, large in body and small in ratings, ranking just ahead of the moderator of the “AA on MS” meeting. Appeared sick of mixing with the cows and corn in Iowa. New Hampshire is more his style.

—Ted Cruz: Very uncomfortable being picked on. Was looking for a way to exit stage right. Worst performance of his short career. Displayed many of the reasons he is not liked among the U.S. senators. Still loves his buddy Donald even though they hate each other. He even tried a real smile once.

—John Kasich: Another good performance. Spoke well. Good sense of what is needed in bringing people together. Does not fit the mold of super egos, outrage, lies and mischaracterizations of Obama and Clinton, which is the foundational strategy of the Republican party.

—Rand Paul: Articulate with good sense. Relaxed. Realizes his mistake in trying to throw in with the Republicans.

—Marco Rubio: One angry, super-hyped and obviously bright young man. The podium held him back from flying off the stage. Accusations galore with little substance in problem-solving. Not a good night for the Florida Flash.

The “AA on MS” meeting adjourned with the playing of New Jersey’s new theme song: “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”

The lone attendee at the meeting, me, said good night and went to bed.
